After reading this book I took a whole new approach to sponsorship and corporate giving. It walks beginners through the basics and explains why new strategic sponsorship is the best new tool for funding your work. At the same time, it has as much advanced material as any experienced professional would need. The examples and templates are invaluable. At a time when things are changing so rapidly, this book lays out a plan, and gives you the tools, to be successful in raising funds. It has been essential in my work.

This book is a godsend for people on both sides of the sponsorship fence. I have managed sponsorships for a number of major corporates. It used to break my heart to see needy and well meaning organisations waste valuable resources sending poorly targetted proposals. Sponsees with the good sense to use a guide like the sponsorship toolkit, will greatly enhance their chances of finding a suitable sponsorship partner. Good luck!

An essential tool for nonprofits,
This review is from: The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit (Paperback)
This is a gem for organizations willing to take a new road to generating funds. Ms. Grey and Ms. Skildum Reid have provided a roadmap for nonprofits who are tired of fundraising and writing grants. Kudos to them!

I've read nearly a dozen books on the business of sponsorship, and this ranks near the top. It's full of useful information. The book helped me see some things in a new light. For beginning sponsor seekers, this book is worth it's weight in gold. I hope my competition doesn't get their hands on it.

Fantastic resource,
By mark jackson (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit, Second Edition (Paperback)
What most impresses me about this book is the relevant information provided right from the beginning. Within a matter of pages I found valuable tools to apply in my everyday activities, and that trend continued throughout. Now I keep the book at arms reach as a reference guide. If all sponsorship seekers were to embrace the principles outlined in the book, our efforts would become more successful, while instilling a higher level of professionalism in what we do.

A must for any non-profit considering sponsorships.,
By Cole McKenry (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit (Paperback)
I wish I had read this book years ago. Ms. Grey starts out with a simple truth that unfortunatley the majority of Development professional do not know, which is in seeking sponsorship dollars you are offering the company a product and not seeking a donation. She also stresses the need for each sponsorship proposal to be expressly designed for the individual company unlike the traditional "boiler plate corporate proposal". The non-profit needs to show the monetary value of what they are offering the company. Since reading Ms. Grey's book we have finally developed a real sponsorship program that is bringing in the funds that we need.

Somebody finally did it - this is great!,

This review is from: The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit (Paperback)
Whether you're a small-town Boy Scout Troop, a big-city symphony, or a World Cup team, you need this book. It's really "hands on." The checklists, forms, and other how-to's take a complicated procedure and make it a no-brainer. It explains the theories, but focuses on how to to get organized internally for sponsorship-seeking, how to pinpoint exactly what YOU need for YOUR specific organization or event - and exactly who to seek sponsorship from, and how. Even if you're a pro in this field, trust me, it'll put you on top of your game and save you tons of time. This is THE reference book that's going to stay on my desk from now on. The sample contracts alone are easily worth ten, twenty, fifty times the price of admission!

A must for anyone procuring sponsorships,
By
This review is from: Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit Third Edition (Paperback)
Being a realtive newcomer to sponsorship procurement, this book has been valuable and well used. The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit teaches every step necessary to make first contact, foster relationships, build a creative winning proposal, administer your proposal and prepare followup reports.
This and the two previous Sponsorship Seekers Toolkit can take a novice and teach them how to speak to sponsors confindently and knowledgably. If you're a seasoned professional, Kim and Anne-Marie come up with such creative partnerships, you'll find yourself smiling over the common sense they inject into every chapter. This book has taught my staff how to present proposals that will enhance multiple sponsors, thereby giving them more bang for their buck as well as making the event more memorable for the audience. This book is a dog-eared must in my professional library. |
