Don't buy this if you need a loose tea infuser. A previous reviewer described it as developing "an overbite" which is a good enough description, so the tea-leaves would just fall out very easily. Mine did very soon after its arrival and I couldn't fix it, but then because I bought this snap spoon as a teabag lifter rather than tea leaf infuser, it works well for that purpose. I was tired of the teabags dyeing my fingernails whenever I lifted them out of my cup of tea, and this gadget eliminates that. And it was very inexpensive too. Although "List Price $58.00". Seriously?! The $3.25 is a lot more reasonable :-)

Works as advertised. Easy to clean and use. Hinge is kind of funky as it will frequently develop a overbite but you can simply adjust it with your hand when it does.

This infuser works so much better than the old kind that are hinged and often don't stay closed. It's easy to fill, the stainless steel stays new-looking, and it works well with all my loose teas. The only downside is it has a very stiff spring when new, so it takes some breaking in the first few times you use it.

I prefer this style to the mesh ones because it's easier to grab loose tea out of a bag and the hinge tends to be stronger and stay closed better. However, for some reason, it's harder to find - both in stores and online. I've been borrowing one of my mom's that she's had for ages, and decided I needed a few of my own, but this brand doesn't seem as high-quality as the old one. As other users have said, it tends to have an "overbite," plus the metal is a bit thinner and weaker. I still prefer it to the mesh ones, but I'll keep looking for the "perfect" version.

I have the same spoon which is probably over 10 years old and I thought this one will be the same quality item. While it certainly looks the same (if only more shiny) the spring is very stiff and it opens/closes very slowly. I hope it'll get better in time. however, it does the trick.

I LOVE this little gadget!!! It's a 'one squeeze action' whether your'e using it for an infuser for loose tea, or for squeezing your tea bags after the brew is finished.
It's also VERY durable, which is great because I drink alot of tea! LOVE IT!

We have bought many infusers and have tossed many. This snap spoon measures the right amount and steeps perfectly. The spring closure keeps the leaves inside and empties easily, its also durably made. Spend a little more for something that will last a long time.

I ordered this for a friend who had one just like it for years and it broke. She was so happy to be able to find the exact same one.
