3.0 out of 5 stars Half great, half good (3.5 stars), August 31, 2000

The first few songs make this album worth the price of admission. Taken from the Red Sun EP, they are all powerful tracks from a band in its prime, including intense covers of "Some Velvet Morning" and "Town Without Pity". The other stuff is a mish mash and probably only interesting to hard core fans. If you're a completist, though, the inclusion of "Ants Are Cavemen" and "Burn the Flames" will save you the trouble of hunting down the Sub Pop 7" single and the Roky Erickson tribute album respectively.

I agree with the previous review - there's some good stuff here (the Red Sun EP, Ants are Cavemen), but realistically this is only for established fans looking for a handy single CD collection of all of that hard-to-find TWR material you desperately want to get your hands on.

Except that even then, it doesn't include everything - for example, TWR's cover of Hendrix's 'May This be Love', only found on the Communion/Imaginary 'If 6 was 9' Hendrix tribute...

Which I do have. How sad is that? ;-)
