My 2 1/2 year old black lab was always pulling on her leash no matter what I did to try to train her not to. Finally I read about this halter and tried it - perfect, immediately no more pulling! It goes around her body, not her neck and the straps are very soft under her legs. Takes just a few seconds to put on her.

There are very few small things that are life changing but this halter is one of them.

I have two, energetic, Standard poodles, an 8 month old male and a recently rescued (and untrained) 18 month-old female. I think I've tried every "no-pull" harness on the market. Either they didn't work or my male dog would chew through the straps on the front while riding in the car. Last week I purchased two, Sporn Pull-Stop harnesses, and the change was amazing. Yes, the dogs still pull, but the pull only about 25% as hard as before. I like the way this harness exerts pressure under their legs when the dogs try to pull. It doesn't choke the dogs or make then cough as a noose around the neck or pressure on the chest does. The straps that tighten under the legs are padded, so the straps don't injure the dog. Also, this harness system is PERFECT for walking a pair of dogs together. You can clip the dogs together by clipping your leash (or two leashes if you prefer) to the two rings on the top of the two leads that extends out from the top of the two harnesses. This clips the dogs together with about 3 to 4 feet of lead between them. This forces the dogs to walk together and causes the dogs to pull against each other instead of against you. It only took my dogs a few minutes to figure out that pulling away from me/each other was futile and that walking side-by-side was the path of least resistance. Now I have them under control enough that I can begin training them not to pull at all. The one thing that needs a "fix" about this harness is that there is always a lead or strap hanging down from the top. I'd like to have a way to clip it up, so that I don't have to remove the harnesses, when I take the leash(es) off the dogs at the dog park.

Wow these harnesses really work, 2 big black labs that are not use to being on a leash now I can walk both of them my self. The dogs do not even mind them being on. What a great product and something that works like it promises.

My veterinarian recommended I try this halter in order to control a 70 pound adolescent sheepdog who was next to impossible to walk. While the veterinarian admitted had no experience with the halter, an employee in his office had highly recommended its use. She used to have a husky who was a former sled dog and this product was the only thing that would control her husky. Our Ginnie Mae chased cars, stalked animals and seemed to think she was a sled dog pulling me! Choker collars did little to deter her dangerous behavior. She would tug until she backed out of a regular collar. If she saw a bird my arm was torn out of the socket! On more than one occasion, I ended up mid air and on the ground! Daily walks were dangerous and neither one of the kids could walk her.
Our first walk with the Sporn Halter was amazing. This formerly uncontrollable dog never tugged at the leash--NOT ONCE! The halter completely subdued her behavior. The straps around her front legs are not at all tight so the dog seems completely comfortable. It is easy to fit, easy to get on and off the dog and the dog does not seem to be bothered by the apparatus. The Sporn collar can remain on the dog (with the arm straps detached) but I have found it easier to just leave her regular collar on and leave the sporn halter on the leash. No reason the kids cannot walk her now!
I do not know why this apparatus works but it absolutely does!

After trying numerous harnesses on the market, we finally ordered the Sporn harness - and I'm thrilled we did! My dog is a 1 year old beagle/spaniel mix who puts her nose to the ground and GOES! She is extremely powerful for her size (30lbs) and would nearly yank my arm out during walks. I tried training her on a short chain leash to no avail - my hands would be red and even blistered after these attempts. She pulled and pulled and the harnesses would chafe her so badly and cut her under her legs. One walk with the Sporn and she was a changed dog! She still tries to pull and tugs ever so slightly, but the design of the harness prevents her from really pulling as she used to. Walks have become so enjoyable for both of us. She walks right alongside me just as I always wished she would, on pace with me. The padding underneath the legs is perfect and comfortable for her. I was AMAZED at how the Sporn harness worked immediately. Sporn all the way, we've finally found the perfect harness. Would recommend to anyone!

These harnesses are awesome. I have tried regular harnesses, choke chains, and even the gentle leader head harness. None of them worked like the sporn pull-stop harness. The only thing to watch out for is the cord that wraps under the front legs. As I was putting the collar on my lab, she got the cord in her mouth for maybe two seconds and it was already frayed. Other than that, this is an awesome product. I definitely recommend it to anyone who has a dog that pulls. I have two (a lab and a german shepherd) and both were walking with loose leashes the first minute we were walking. Love this harness!!!
