In terms of quality and features for the price, this brush can not be bested. It is a fine, porcupine (combination nylon/boar) bristle, cushioned grooming brush. Of all the brushes I own -- including Denman, Jean-Pierre, Kent and Mason Pearson -- the Spornette 25 by far is the least expensive yet performs every bit as well as the best and most costly. It is comfortable, glides smoothly through long, thick, wavy hair and holds up well to extensive use. I am pleased with it and can't imagine why it wouldn't please anyone, except perhaps bald persons. This brush is a total bargain.

I bought this brush for my wife after we got married 18 years ago and it is still in great shape... she uses it every day and my daughter also uses it and won't use another brush. So I'm buying her one of her own for Christmas. There are cheaper brushes, but this is well-made, obviously good quality.

I ordered this brush for my husband (long, thick American Indian hair). He absolutely loves it! So, I tried the brush on my very fine, thin hair...OMG! Not only does it stimulate the scalp and make your hair more shiny/more manageable, we both have less hair fallout after only using it for a few days. After 32 years of marriage, this brush is the only item we've ever fought over. LOL! So, I just ordered 3 more of these! Super great for scraggy old hair, thick or thin! ;-)

My wife loves this brush, and she has an older, very expensive Mason-Pearson. She thinks this one is better because it goes through her long, thick hair down to her scalp much easier. There is a hole in the lower center of the cushion that looks like it has missing bristles, but it is for drainage. We were ready to return it as defective with great reluctance until we read some other reviews and then looked closely at the photo of the product by placing the mouse cursor over the photo and zooming in; there's the same hole we were worried about. Great brush. Fantastic price.

Love this brush! I wash my hair with baking soda ("No 'Poo" method) and using this brush will allow me to go longer with my hair looking freshly washed. The longer bristles get the brush all the way through my thick shoulder-length hair and the boar bristles make it shine and feel almost like some styling product was applied. I'm really glad I bought this.

When new this brush looks great, feels great, brushes hair wonderfully and comfortably. But this brush just goes in and out of a drawer a couple times a day and looks many years old after only months. It's missing one bristle (no big deal unless more follow) but lots of the clear coat is gone making the brush look bad and not feel so comfortable in the hand.

Forget about Mason & Pearson, this brush feels every bit as good on your scalp and works great on thick hair. There is no point in spending $100+ on the plastic brush with the high end brand name. They've priced themselves right out of a good reputation. I like the wood handle as well. Others have complained of peeling but that has not been an issue. You may want to NOT soak the wood part in soapy water but just swish the bristle part around, rinse and air dry. Wood and wood finish do not like water.
