Jane Brody, C.S.A., has been working for the past 35 years as an actress, producer, director, agent, and casting director. It was while studying with Casting Director and Teacher, Michael Shurtleff, that she discovered her true love, teaching. It inspired her to found The Audition Center (now the Audition Studio) in 1981. It is still regarded as Chicago's premiere school for acting professionals. She has seen her students go on to careers in all media, including film (Michael Shannon, Pearl Harbor), Stage (TR Knight, Noises Off and Sally Murphy, Carousel, both on Broadway) and TV (Melissa Peterman, Reba).
Proctor and Gamble's casting director had a chance to observe Jane's perceptive way with actors. That led to the founding of Jane Brody Casting (now Tenner, Paskal and Rudnicke Casting). Over the years, while casting TV, film and hundreds of commercials by day, then teaching actors at night, Jane evolved her unique approach to "breaking down" a script for a cold reading.
