In theory, this is a great product, with the excellent idea of getting shade regardless of where the sun is positioned. The problem is that the umbrella is attached by a single point to the arm rest. I used this chair for the very first time this weekend, as I watched my eight year-old son play soccer. One relatively minor gust of wind came up, and off my umbrella snapped into the field. Wow, I was amazed. Everyone else, sitting with their other roofed chairs, those with two (not one) metal bar attaching the roof, had absolutely no issues. I, on the other hand, had to run into the soccer field, retrieve the umbrella, and sit there holding it, since it had broken off and could not be replaced. So unless you plan to use this in your patio where you are never to bump into the smallest gust of wind, I'd say you try another product. Great idea, poor execution. I'm very disappointed and will be returning both chairs I bought from Amazon, sad to have to incur the likely expensive return shipping charge.

My son plays high school baseball, so I am always looking for a comfy chair to sit in, therefore avoiding the bleachers. When I saw the "Super-Brella" offered, I thought "wow, just what I need to replace one of my old ones that have definitely seen better days." Unfortunately, I was wrong this chair is NOT for me.

SIZE: This chair isn't that large. It definitely would be appropriate or comfortable for a small person or a teen. I could sit in it, but it was not comfortable. It was stiff (which might give over time and use), and even felt a little confining. The tag boasts that it will accommodate up to 250lbs, but my husband, who is 6ft and 220lbs, said that it wasn't comfortable at all. He barely fit. He said he felt constrained (movements were limited) and enclosed. He continued by saying that even trying to stretch his legs out proved difficult. So depending on your size and what you intend to use this chair for, it might not be the best option for you. (negative)

QUALITY: To me, this product seemed to be cheaply made. The construction of the chair seat seemed adequate. The seat was made of the traditional nylon material that most chairs of this type are made of; the frame (which was made from an aluminum material) seemed ok (although I would not suggest this product for a medium or large sized person) but poorly constructed; but the push button type control that operate the umbrella (the main feature), which allows you to swivel the cover in various directions, seem to be hastily or poorly made. Over time, I could see the adjustable buttons having issues. (negative)

ACCESSORIES: There is a small cup holder. It is big enough (maybe) for a bottled water. You would definitely need to check if it will hold various cup sizes and drinks (can or plastic).

Hello Michelle L. Beck "Always the Devourer of Good Books!",

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your constructive and very well thought out review. We do offer chairs with a higher weight limit that are also wider and deeper, and would love to send you one at no cost. Hopefully this will provide additional comfort for you and your husband. I have attached two links to those options below, so please take a look and give us a call so we can get you all taken care of. To clarify some of your comments, please see below:
Chair frame - Steel
Chair fabric - Polyester with a Polyethylene coating
Buttons on Umbrella - We have recently made improvements to the tension of the buttons and looseness of the joint to increase durability
Cup Holder - will definitely hold a standard soda can and water bottle
Again, we appreciate your feedback and would love to send you a new chair, so please give us a call.

I have several different styles of these canvas folding chairs from the basic chair that came out around 20 yrs ago to the one that's like a recliner. None of them are very comfortable for big people. I'm 6'4" and run from 240 to 250 pounds. And for me this chair is not very comfortable at all. for somebody under 200 pounds it would probably be better.
Also it depends on what kind of surface it's sitting on. For sandy beaches at the lake or ocean, not very suitable. The feet sink into the sand making it even harder to get out of. Now for using it in a park on grass it would be great. I'm planning on taking it with me on a trip down to Oklahoma and do some Bass fishing and Cat fishing and try it out on one of my old favorite lakes. But I think the feet will tend to sink into the sand too much.
There's one other problem with it. It's like a Chines puzzle to try and get it back into the carry and storage bag. The other styles I have the bag that came with them is plenty big enough to get the chair in it. This one is way too small. I think they might have used the same bag from one of the other style chairs that's not quit as big as this one.
I think it would be ok for adults from 100 pounds to 175 pounds, give or take a few pounds and for children. It is fairly light weight but I wouldn't want to carry it more than a city block or two. The umbrella is easy to maneuver around to where you want it and being able to put it on either side of the chair is nice. But, it does take up a lot of room. So for a chair to use while watching your kids play soccer or baseball or something like that where you will have a lot of other people around you trying to see I think you will end up with some people unhappy with the way it blocks their view.

I've got a couple of heavy-duty chairs, and they are really great, with strong seams, cloth, padding, and they are big, wide and comfortable. This chair really doesn't rate well against them in any category. Except this one's got an umbrella. The product's copy says that the seat is "ultra-wide," but I disagree. It's about the same as any other bargain chair. I fit in this chair just fine, but I wouldn't call it ultra-wide.

And the umbrella. The design is simple enough to figure out without a user's manual. The only possibly confusing part is the clip that keeps the umbrella in place, on either side of the chair. Simply depress the bottom of the umbrella unit, and the umbrella assembly pops up and out for placement on the opposite side.

There are two ways to adjust the umbrella, one at the midway elbow and one at the top of the umbrella canopy. Both work with simple click stops; depress the center button and move it to the position you want. Easy enough. And the stops hold pretty well; none of them slipped or stripped while I was using this chair.

One aspect that I expected of the umbrella was not there: rotation. There is no way to rotate the umbrella. It's a given that angle of the sun is going to change in time, and being able to simply rotate the umbrella would be a great way to deal with that, without a combination of clicks and stops to get it into the right position. This is a design upgrade this product needs.

And what of durability? Well, given that Amazon.com requires a review within 30 days, this chair didn't get that much of a workout in a dark and wet DC April. So far it's holding up just fine, with no rips or tears, nothing falling apart.
