This is potentially a very fun toy, but younger children should be supervised carefully. My 9-year old daughter, agile and well coordinated, tumbled off of it and broke her collar bone. I would really only recommend this size for someone of near adult size; the smaller sizes would be safer for smaller children - if they can lay on top of the ball and nearly reach their hand to the ground, they should be pretty safe (she couldn't on the big one).

These balls can hold lots of weight. I own one myself and it can withstand at least 300 pounds blown up. My dog has played with it and it has sharp teeth and it didn't even pop yet. This ball is the best and biggest I have ever found.

Bigens Balls are Great,

I bought one of the smaller balls a few years back, and I loved it. Then when I heard abut the 50" one, I got it in a heartbeat. It dosen't ever inflate to 50" (I think it will pop it gets so stiff) but it still reaches up to my neck. I have tested it to hold up to 200lbs. in weight, and it can withstand dog bites and rocks without a problem. I don't find too great for an indoor toy, but it fits right in outside or in a pool, all in all, it's something everyone needs.

This toy stayed in our Michigan backyard YEAR ROUND for 3 years and finally popped after SERIOUS abuse. As one reviewer mentioned, I never got it to 50", but at about 40 or so, all kids (3-12 so far) had a blast with it. You push it, play "soccer", steam-roll the kids, throw it, try and sit on it, I've even used it to stretch. I kept it on the grass and think it popped from hitting a chain link fence, fyi. I just bought several as christmas presents. Have fun!

it BURST and HURT my daughter!,

We just gave this 'bigens' 50" ball to my son for his 4th birthday this evening and we inflated it according to the directions- even leaving a little leeway for fear that it would be too big at the full 50" size. It was about 47" when we were finished.
Well, the ball exploded while my 7 year old and her dad were playing with it causing her to fall hard on the ground and jarring her stomach hard enough to bring her to tears. Thank God she wasn't hurt severly! The damned thing split right in half after only playing with it for about 10-15 minutes! We paid WAY too much for it to be having that happen! My kids are disappointed (as are my husband and I) and my daughter got hurt! >: I sent an e-mail to them just now- we'll see what they have to say tomorrow- hopefully. >:(

I recently purchased this ball for christmas and was so excited that I had to give it to the kids before christmas arrived! My 13 year old absolutly loves it. All he does is bounce off it while watching television. He tries to see how many bounces he can get before falling off. (11 bounces are the max so far!)The only drawback is that it is big and takes up room. The ball itself is so rubbery and flexable that a single tap can cause it to start bouncing. It is something that the kid in all of us can enjoy, not to mention that you can streach out your back on it after a hard day at work!

A big Bigens fan,

I am a huge fan of the whole Bigens ball line. At one point I even planned to sell them myself! Kids just can't stop playing with them! I have given one to each of my 8 nephews and many young friends. I've also played in groups of 10 children and adults where we played hour after hour.
Here's the deal on their durability. I've never seen one break INSIDE the house and this is said after having put several adults and a bunch of kids all on top of one ball. I, myself, who weighs over 200 pounds have stood and jumped on one (of course, with adults surrounding the ball to make sure it didn't roll out from under me). The problem is that outdoors they are VERY susceptible to branch and thorn punctures. Basically, anything that's pointy and hard will easily break the ball. So my rule is, keep them indoors or in a very controlled outdoor environment where the grass is soft and there's no bushes or trees anywhere nearby. As to kids rough-housing. I can't deny this. You do need to teach your kids that this ball can break things and should be used in a play room or basement where there aren't any breakables around. Also, it is true that children can roll off and potentially hurt their heads. In my experience, I've found that most kids who don't normally have bad judgement have pretty good judgement with these balls. They experiment and figure out what they can and can't do without hurting themselves. Usually, the greater problem is that the adults around are too nervous and don't trust the kids. That said, adult serpervision is recommended as a means of controlling how out of control kids can get with the ball and to help keep the ball from rolling out from under kids. But adults should remember to let the kids experiment and take risks a little with boundaries. The best way to play with these balls is if you have some gym wrestling mats around and have enough adults to hold the ball so kids can try all sorts of things with them. Water also works if you make sure the ball doesn't blow away. For example we've flipped over the ball from a dock then landing in the water. Anyway, the prices have now come down so far that I can't recommend the 40" and 50" balls enough for 10 years and up and the smaller balls for younger kids.

I bought this ball for training my horses and they have a blast with it. It is used outside in a horse arena and have not had any popage YET! They are pretty rough with it. My 6 year old loves it as well.

This ball will keep you occupied for hours. Use it to role around or to bounce up on down. It can be taken into pools or brought into a trampoline( my personal favorite). Moms may not like it much but bouncing on this ball ecspecially in the trampoline is some of the best fun you'll ever have. I highly recommend you get one of these Big Balls.

This is the second one of these we have purchased. The first we took to a family reunion and everyone loved it, so we left it with the family and bought us another. Our kids range from age 3 to 16 and they all can play with it. Whenever people come over to our house, this is usually the first toy kids head for. Just a tip-- blow it up in the room you want it to stay in since it's too big to get through the doorway (another plus to keep play downstairs) We definitely recommend this ball. I wish I would have discovered it a long time ago.
