Quality early music experience,

This review is from: The Sport of Love (Audio CD)
I have attended many Musica Antigua de Albuquerque concerts. This CD captures the flavor of their live performances. The singing is strong, the instruments sound great, and there is a good balance between instrumental and vocal performances. The liner notes, just like their concert programs, are chock-full of useful information and translated lyrics. This and their previous CD: A Rose of Such Virtue, are excellent samplers of early music.

The best "Trotto" I've ever heard.,

This review is from: The Sport of Love (Audio CD)
The arrangement of "Trotto" is worth the price of the entire CD. "Trotto" is avery popular piece in early music, but no one has ever done it with such drama and power. Over all, the material is less varied and to me a little less interesting than their other album "A Rose of Swych Virtu", but this is still some of the best early music recorded.

I had heard a song from this CD on Public radio and loved it. I bought the CD and have listened to it over and over. I even bought another one of this CD for my daughter who us also a medieval re-inactor The music is so authenic and sung beautifully. I feel like I am in a castle in Scotland in the middle ages. Buy it you'll love it!
