Got this yesterday so I can't speak to longevity but the following is a detailed breakdown.

The facts:

1. It's so thin you will wonder if it's in the envelope. Fold a piece of paper in half twice and you will have an excellent idea of how thick the wallet is on it's own.

2. Unless you stuff the pockets, your cards will move around a little when you open the wallet. They will not fall out unless you hold the wallet open and shake it, seriously. I just did that to try and get them to fall out and my plastic cards (4) came out of one side. My business cards stayed.

3. It makes noise. Does it make enough noise that I'm self-conscious? No. It's a crinkly noise that you may notice in a quiet situation.

4. It is exactly big enough to hold US Dollars. No less and NO MORE.

My opinions:

The reason I wanted this wallet is because I hate having things in my pockets. I carry a cell phone, folding knife and handkerchief or paper towel anytime I leave the house. If there is any way I can reduce bulk or weight I will.

I don't care about the noise. It's not so loud that it will attract attention. Anyone who hears it will probably be so close to you that you know them already.

No, it does not look like a leather wallet. It looks like nylon material. I got blue and to me, it's gorgeous. I value substance over form, your needs might be different.

I chose the sport version because it's the thinnest, smallest wallet made by All Ett. Check out their site. If you want more reviews there were 39 customer reviews (on May 28, 2010) on the All-Ett Billfold here:

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice wallet. Lasted about 4 years. October 16, 2010
Ok, here's the deal with this wallet, which I've owned for almost 4 years.

1. It's ridiculously thin. I've never seen a wallet this thin.

2. Capacity is just right for a minimalist like me. 4 credit cards, student id, license, AAA card, car and medical insurance. That's about all it will fit. You might be able to squeeze in 1-2 more cards. Cash pocket will fit a good number of bills (10-20 bills, no problem).

3. It will make noise, but only in the first 1-2 months of ownership. The material is strangely crinkly when you first get it, but after some time in your pocket this will go away. I don't know why that it- maybe it absorbs some oils from your hands or something as you use it, but the crinkle will go away. The nylon basically softens over time.

4. It will last a couple of years. I've had mine since early 07, and it's pretty much falling apart right now. I don't do anything crazy with it, just normal use- I put in in my front pocket every day. Because the nylon softens over time, it becomes less durable and starts to fray. Holes will slowly start to open up in the wallet. The biggest hole appears to be right in the middle of the cash pocket. There are also holes in the corners of the card slots. I think the basic reason for all the holes is that the corners of your credit cards rub against certain spots in the wallet, thinning them out. Ripstop nylon is very strong but over time it will soften and weaken.

Is it worth it? For me, sure. I think 4 years for a wallet that is this thin is pretty good. A leather wallet might last a few more years, but they are thick. I will probably buy another one of these pretty soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars All-Ett Wallet FTW. November 25, 2011
Verified Purchase
Just purchased my second All-Ett Sport Wallet. I got my first one about 3 years ago, and it was finally starting to get pretty beat up, so I replaced it as an early Xmas gift to myself.
Really the thinnest wallet you can find, and works perfectly for front-pocket carry.
Someone mentioned it being crinkly... it is at first, but as you carry it, the fabric softens, so it's not a long-term issue.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very thin wallet November 14, 2011
Verified Purchase
This wallet is extremely thin and works as advertised. The credit cards only use one pocket on each side, which can be cumbersome when pulling out a card that isn't on the top. This is a great travel wallet and fits comfortably in the front pocket of men's pants.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't sit on a brick. March 29, 2011
Verified Purchase
I love this wallet. For years, I watched family members and friends carry giant, overstuffed wallets, full of things they didn't need. Their wallets were uncomfortable to sit on and hard to get into and out of front pockets. I'm determined not to do the same, and this wallet is a big part of the solution. It lets me carry my credit cards, driver's license, medical cards, AAA card, cash, receipts, and even a spare bandage all in an amazingly lightweight, small package. It weights almost nothing, it's tough, and it just works. It adds essentially no weight or space to what you're carrying in it. Now I just have to convince everyone else to leave what they don't need behind and switch to this wallet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my life September 11, 2011
Verified Purchase
Ok, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but this is a seriously great product. I've struggled with different wallet/money clip solutions for a long time before stumbling across this. The wallet is great quality and the 'noise' that people have mentioned is so quiet that you would have to hold it up to your head and mash the wallet around to notice. One point, using a wallet like this really necessitates having an additional wallet as well with all the cards that don't make the cut. I keep my license and 3 cards in this and stash everything else in my car to be pulled out when needed.

It's nice to finally be able to sit down without first having to pull my wallet out of my pants first. Great product.
