I have not owned a pedometer before, and chose this one for its size. You can keep it in your front pocket instead of suspending it from your belt (and thereby avoid the amused smiles of your workmates). You don't notice it in your pocket, and it quietly does its thing.

I admit, I really liked the concept and design. However, I've bought two of them and both of them malfunction often - from the displays resetting while I'm walking (mind you, my pockets are empty when I use it) to the buttons that don't respond. I admit, I really liked the concept and design. However, I've bought two of them and both of them malfunction often - from the displays resetting while I'm walking (mind you, my pockets are empty when I use it) to the buttons that don't respond. Replacing the battery didn't fix the problem. If anything, I have two nifty gadgets with stopwatches and pedometer features that only work half the time. If you want a really good pedometer, type the words "research-grade" pedometer into a search engine and go with those instead. In the meantime, I'm going to purchase a Digiwalker that a Kinesiology instructor recommended to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but useless, May 14, 2008

I was very excited about this product until I bought it and tried it. The buttons do not work all the time and the unit resets throughout the day making it look like I only walked 200 steps. It is a shame that it doesn't work well, great idea, lousy execution. Don't waste your money.

i walked down stairs to the bathroom and back and it said i walked a tenth of a mile. this is after an accurate setup. not to mention it will reset in your pocket and get scratched.. you think they would realize that would happen to a product that you put in your pocket!?!?

I have not owned a pedometer before, and chose this one for its size. You can keep it in your front pocket instead of suspending it from your belt (and thereby avoid the amused smiles of your workmates). You don't notice it in your pocket, and it quietly does its thing.

However, the jury is still out on its accuracy. When taking sure steps in a straight line, it seems to count fairly accurately. However, I occasionally count my steps in my head and then compare the results on this unit. On several occassions, there has been a discrepancy. At times, the pedometer registered zero steps (when I had taken several), but at other times it seemed to add several steps when i had taken only 1. Does it all average out? I don't know, but I'd like to learn of any testing done by others.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this, September 20, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this item and it hasn't worked since I got it. The display fades in and out and that's only if you can get the thing to turn on at all. I won't be purchasing this product again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, December 28, 2010

I wanted a pedometer for xmas and saw this one on the amazon website and thought this would be perfect. I can carry it in my pocket and get an idea of how far I am walking each day and hopefully this would inspire me to walk more.

Like many others have said this device is a great idea that doesnt work. It is way off on the step count. I've tested it by walking 10 steps and it will record it as anywhere from 14 steps to 20 steps. It never gives an accurate step count. The day after xmas I didnt go anywhere and just lounged around the house and it had recorded I walked 4500 steps!!!

Dont buy this thing. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing invention!, June 18, 2010
This review is from: Sportline ThinQ Pocket Pedometer (Sports)
I bought one and it's just the best thing I've ever bought. Every time I go for a walk or run It's never a step off. I hear that some people have trouble because it goes a step ahead or behind, but I think their lying. It comes in all sorts of vibrant colors like green and pink and it fits into my pocket all the time! I hope I've encouraged you to get one.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, April 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was disapponited with this pedometer. I though it would be great with its slim line, but it does not work well. I am not sure whether it does not record accuurately, or if it accidently gets rest when in my pants pocket. Sometimes, I will pull it out during the day and fiind a reaading way too low for the numer of steps taken or it reads zero.

1.0 out of 5 stars WISH I HAD READ REVIEWS, March 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I really wish I had read the other reviews. Instead I was thrilled with the idea I could stick this pedometer in my pocket to count my steps. Clipping one to my waist band isn't comfortable.

The pedometer resets in my pocket or just plan freezes. It does nothing. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. Can you give a product 0 stars? If so - I would.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate counting, January 28, 2008

I bought this because of the slim profile but found that it doesn't keep an accurate count. Not even close. Has to be carried at the perfect angle to count steps, which is nearly impossible. The style is great, but who cares if it doesn't do the job. Pass on this one.
