The 885 Flip Pack from Sportline is designed to make access to your tunes, phone, and water bottle easy as you workout. Placed in hand's reach on the pack's front, the signature FlipView pocket fits most MP3 players and cell phones and flips up to 180 degrees so that you can view and access the controls of your player without changing pace. The water bottle holster is also placed on the pack front, making it easy to drink from and re-stow your water bottle as you move. An additional cargo pocket behind the FlipView pocket holds small items like keys, a powerbar, or a small wallet. The Flip Pack has an adjustable waistband that fits up to 46-inch waist sizes and is detailed with reflective piping for low-light visibility. Constructed out of water and tear resistant fabrics, the pack is intended for active use.

I had to submit my review after reading the other ones that didn't rate it so high. I have not had the same issues with my pack. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I've been running for two years and had previously used a standard pack that has one water bottle that sat right in the small of my back. However, I had been looking for away to attach my iPhone to it safely since I couldn't stand using an arm band.

I was so excited when I saw this pack in the store. It was just what I had been wanting. However, although it has the perfect holder for an iPhone, I was a little reluctant to purchase this at first because I was 1.) worried that it would be awkward running with a pack in the front; 2.) worried that the velcro would not be enough to keep the phone velcroed down and from flopping around....also the normal wear and tear on the velcro from flipping up the phone to note my pace on my RunKeeper app.

Admittedly, the pack doesn't work so well in the direct front as a runner...would probably be okay for a walker. However, there is too much bounce to allow that to be comfortable. It did much better when I moved it around to the back...however, it defeated the purpose of being able to monitor my pace as I was running.

I finally figured out that if I put it on my right side with the bottle toward the back part, that I could accomplish everything I needed. iPhone and app are easily accessible..in fact, I rarely need to flip up the phone to see my pace. I can usually see it by barely tipping it up. The water bottle is still handy and I'm able to use my arms without smacking it.

So, while I'm not strictly using it as designed, it suits my purpose just like I needed. I'm really happy with it. Some other things:

1.) The belt isn't that big. If your waist size is 40 inches plus, you might have a tough time getting it to snap.
2.) The water bottle holder is great. My old holder was all material. I like the reinforced strips that make it stiff enough to jam the bottle back in...yet is lightweight and holds the bottle tightly.
3. Water bottle is pretty standard...just right.
4.) The zippered pouch is bigger than I orginally thought. Holds spare key, chapstick, Gu and $ just fine.

Bought this for a marathon and would NOT recommend this for running even the shortest distances. I spent the whole marathon adjusting the jostling bottle. I've since purchases a different pack for my next marathon and this pack got packed away.

Bounced way to much May 26, 2009
I purchased this because of the flip up MP3 pouch with the viewing window and the additional storage. No matter what position I wore the water bottle in I found that this thing bounced around like crazy. Definetly would NOT reccomend it.
