There are multiple problems with this extremely over-priced watch. Most importantly, the heart rate monitor becomes useless once you start to workout and sweat a little. And no matter how you attempt to reposition the watch or attempt to get a read, will result in a positive readout. Then, when you are not actively working out, the watch will constantly be beeping, as the slightest change in position or glancing touch with your skin will result in an attempted heart read. This persistent checking when you DON'T need it is annoying and at times has made using the other functions difficult. Speaking of which, this is NOT a user friendly device and the function buttons are NOT intuitive. I've never struggled before using a stop-watch function, but somehow the geniuses at Sportline have made it complicated. The only positive function I could find in the watch is the pedometer. I strongly advise against purchasing this product.

My issue is that it will not perform once I start vigorously exercising. It works up until about 5 minutes into my treadmill or other cardio work. I have tried drying my wrist and fingers as well as wetting both (as I heard that helps) but it will not read the heart rate.

I inherited this watch from my pops after he upgraded to a different one. The watch is comfortable to wear and very clean looking compared to many other models. The heart rate monitor can be touchy at times but as long as you apply pressure to the skin until you get a reading you should be fine. I also found that if I wear the watch somewhat loose I can flip it around to the inside of my wrist to get an easier read. Some of the functions of the watch take some getting used to but once you figure it out your good. It also has a green back light which is nice for night running. Highly recommended for the price.

THE HEART RATE MONTOR MOSTLY DOES NOT WORK. ONCE IN AWHILE IT WILL WORK. BUT JUST WHEN YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW YOUR HR, IT WILL NOT WORK. MAYBE ONCE OUT OF 4 OR 5 TIMES IT WORKS.

SO IF YOU WANT IT FOR THE HEART RATE MONITOR FEATURE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WATCH!

I've owned three of these; two were the older type with a button pressed to measure heart rate. The latest requires only a touch, an improvement. All three have never given me trouble with measuring the rate and have been trouble free and accurate, except the band on the oldest snapped when buckling it, after about five years. The rubber gets brittle. The band cannot be repaired.

The newest model is much faster in measuring the heart rate. I liked the way the memory of exercise events and heart rate was kept on the older model, which also had dual time zones. If the new model did that it would call it a much improved version. In any case, I find the watch very useful and reliable.

This watch / heart rate monitor is really quite nice. I almost bought the Sportline 925 at Dicks but opted for this higher quality one thru Amazon for 1/3 the price. Thanks Amazon! The watch and chronograph features work perfectly, the pedometer is nice to have and seems to work well and the heart rate monitor (reason for purchase) works well and seems pretty accurate. The only real issue I can see anybody having is that it takes a couple of seconds to access your heart rate with the finger touch but that is a small price to pay for not having to wear a chest strap. It works for me and looks nicer the many other similar products as well.

Very disappointed with this unit. The band has cracked in several areas and evenly broke after not even six months. I had to have the battery changed once during this time frame as well. I would recommend that the manufacture create a band that can be changed to correct this problem.

Very easy to use. One touch to activate monitor. No chest strap. Recommended by cardiologist to help monitor heart rate after pacemaker implant. Combined with regular watch makes it necessary to wear only one watch.
