Other features include a built-in stopwatch, 12- and 24-hour time settings, a lap/view button, and a backlight. The watch comes with a sleek black band.
About Heart Rate Training
Turns out, your heartbeat is a pretty big deal. It's actually one of the most important indicators of overall wellness, and is one of the most effective elements of any fitness program. Your heart rate not only controls your body but also the efficiency of your exercise. To get the most out of your physical activity--whether it's walking, dancing or aerobics--you need to make sure you are in your target heart rate zone. To determine your target heart rate, first subtract your age from 220. That's your maximum heart rate. Your target heart rate is roughly 50 to 75 percent of this maximum heart rate. To see how your fitness level is progressing over time, measure and track your resting heart rate--usually between 60 and 100 beats per minute--on a weekly basis. As you become more fit, your resting heart rate will decrease.
Your target heart rate generally encompasses three zones. Exercising in the Active Zone (50 to 60 percent of maximum heart rate) reduces blood pressure and cholesterol and is ideal for fitness beginners or those on a low-intensity program. Almost all calories burned in this zone are fat calories. Reaching the Training Zone (60 to 70 percent of maximum heart rate) requires more intense aerobic activity and is perfect for fitness enthusiasts working to burn maximum calories and fat. Finally, exercising in the Endurance Zone (70 to 80 percent of maximum heart rate) is generally recommended for athlete in training. The primary benefits of this zone are cardiovascular strengthening and elevated caloric burn.

Great tracker,

This review is from: Sportline 1060 Unisex Duo Speed and Distance Heart Rate Monitor (Sports)
Once you get everything set up this little power house is great! I love the ability to check my heart rate just by touching the front of the watch so I don't have to wear the chest strap all the time. Its also great that the touch sensitive monitoring can be turned on and off so when I wear it as a regular watch its not trying to check my heart rate if I accidentally touch the front of it. This is a great tool for anyone interested in tracking their runs, workouts, walks, or whatever. If I can find a more petite version I will get it for my wife who needs to monitor her heart during the day because she will like the option of just touching the watch and not having to wear the chest band all day long when she only needs to check in every so often.

Excellent workout watch.,

This review is from: Sportline 1060 Unisex Duo Speed and Distance Heart Rate Monitor (Sports)
Overall I'm very satisfied with this watch. It's a little bit complicated to use at first due to its tons of features and functionality but once you get it, it's a great workout watch. It feels light and comfortable on your wrist. It shows all the critical data you'd like to see during workout without the need to go through multiple screens. One of it's best features is the ability to use it as a heart monitor with or without the chest belt. You can also use it as a pedometer and it even calculates calories burnt. It's a great all in one watch for the price, highly recommended to anyone into fitness. One feature they should include in the next version of this watch is the ability to wirelessly send your workout history to your computer. It captures your workout history for the last 7 days but can't synch it up with your computer to send that data.

Accurate heart rate reading compared to a EKG, touch to show the heart rate on the watch, other useful functions,

This review is from: Sportline 1060 Unisex Duo Speed and Distance Heart Rate Monitor (Sports)
I was giving a two star rating for the 1060 with the main complain for the interferences in my previous review. However, after the recent event I have to revise my review and give the Sportline 1060 a five star. I was found a heart disease recently which causes the heart rate increases rapidly from ~70 to over 200 soon after exercising. In my previous review, I though the high numbers were from interferences instead they were real heart rate readings. During the visiting and diagnostics in my cardiologist's office, I had chances to wear the chest belt to compare the numbers against the EKG under varies conditions, lie down or running on the treadmill, the reading are pretty close under most conditions. The only time that shows major difference is when the heart rate reaches a high point and comes back down. The EKG's reading is coming down faster than the 1060's, assuming the EKG is right.
Also good features for this 1060, touch to show the heart rate and other useful functions as long as you know how to use it. Improvement, more detailed instruction in the manual or online. Must know for user, make sure the contact area on your skin is wet in a dry/windy day before getting sweaty. Wet your finger with water and touch the skin on the location for the watch or the chest area if wearing the chest belt.
