it records steps pretty accurately; it wasn't at all durable though. within 3 weeks of daily use the clip/spring mechanism had "popped" on one side and broke. I also had MANY problems with it resetting during the day and with the stride length being reset (?). I am assuming that after such a short use that the batteries are alrady low. it also recorded movements (such as using restroom) as steps. I liked this one because I thought that the larger clip would hold to waistbands better - but this wasn't really the case. one that i got much cheaper was more accurate and durable overall.

I got this one since the cheap one my comany was giving out was worn out. It recorded steps accurately, but if I moved wrong and it the reset button, I would loose all my information. Decided to buy a Omron HJ112 to replace it.

Good Basic Pedometer,
Good Points: Opens with display readable while attached to your waistband. Spring clip is much better than the folded plastic type. Good accuracy if you set it correctly. Not So Good: Hinge broke - but I do wear it everyday and had been for about 4 months...and it still works fine without the hinge - it just detaches to read now, and easily re-attaches. Distance is off if you don't change the stride between walking & running.

NOT a good product,
This review is from: Walking Advantage - Step-Distance-Calorie Pedometer 345 (Sports)
I used it once to walk on the beach and it seemed to be fairly accurate, however, the reset button is stuck and I have not been able to clear it and have never used it again. A big waste of money!K. Straub

I just got this, and I'm already ready to take it back. I clipped it on my pants, walked around the house some, and it counted... 12 steps. I counted myself and it was easily three times that. So I thought maybe my pants were too loose. I put it in my pocket. Walked around some more, and now it read: 19 steps. WHAT??? I clipped this stupid thing on my underwear and still it did not work! My cellphone pedometer even works better than this. What a piece of s**t!

The hinge on this pedometer just broke-I have had it for a year. I have another pedometer I used at the same time as this one and found the Sportline not to be accurate. Also, It tends to fall off your belt very easily. I wouldn't buy another one.

Sportline Junk,

Bought this Sportline 345 a year ago and it doesn't work right. Same distance walked one day was 4700 steps and next day 2400. Tested at home and it skips steps, sometimes 4 to 1. Junk. Buy Omron or Timex and save yourself a headache and $20.

I am a walker, and a part of a Walking Club. We try to do 5,000 to 10,000 steps a day.Unfortunately, MOST INEXPENSIVE PEDOMETERS ARE NOT ACCURATE, including the cheap ones from Sportline; that you see in most stores for $5 or under $10. My friends and I in my club received the 345 pedometer from our Senior Center. It is truly the best. It is accurate!!! As we are walkers, and very often walk to same places, we know how many steps are involved. This pedometer keeps accurate counts. Also, this #345 pedometer on the SPORTLINE site is $23.95, plus tax and shipping. Amazon sells this for about $16 plus tax, with NO shipping. As a bonus, this pedometer counts calories, miles and has a clock. Also, when you flip it up, the numbers reverse so you can read it without taking it off. I had to replace my original one, because I was afraid it would fall on the floor in a public bathroom. So... I laid it on the toliet paper dispenser, and left it there. Hopefully, the person who found it likes it as much as I did. OA |
