Looks like a catalog.,
This review is from: A to Z of Sports Cars, 1945-1990: The Encyclopaedic Guide to More Than 850 Marques and Thousands of Models (A-Z) (Paperback)
The book is good, but there're many cars wich aren't real sportscars, only tuned cars and kits. The book hasn't too much technical info, and sometimes 3rd level manufacters (Ginetta) have the same consideration as Porsche or Lancia. There's lack of color photos. But the book is fine and entertaining.

It is an enormous and ambitious undertaking to catalogue so many marques and models for such a long period of time. It is a book that the curious would cherish for the display of interesting, exotic and sometimes bizarre machinery.
I chose this book as a favorite for the simple reason that my company Automoda was included in it, and I would like to point out some inaccuracies in its short review. First of all Automoda was not created as a tuner or as a company "hell-bent" on copying anything from "Maranello". On the contrary, its foundation was based on new convertible top mechanism concepts from which patents were granted, showing leadership rather than subordination to existing designs. The Pontiac Fiero was a vehicle that suited well this new convertible mechanism. Following logical design guidelines in its modification, the results were simply outstanding and in no way evocative of Pininfarina designs. After all, beauty is universal. If the author would have dedicated more time in researching the book entries, then the results would have been outstanding.

Didn't have much statistical information. The general coverage of sports cars was great. I had no way to compare the information regarding all the vehicles. I guess I just wanted to much.

An excellent review of the myriad sports cars of the modern era. Provides a general overview of all the marques you know, and many you haven't heard of. Excellent value.
