I'm an adult colorer, but an older child with good motor skills would probably also enjoy this. It does have very small details to color.The cars are exceptionally well drawn, as are the interesting backgrounds, of buildings, landscapes and bricked walls. The cars are gorgeous. It begins with a 1914 Stutz Bearcat and concludes with a 1997 Dodge Viper. I enjoyed coloring this book immensely, as well as coloring the backgrounds of buildings. Some of the pictures have a person in them, and I liked that. Only a couple of the pictures show a car being driven, which was okay with me. I have done some of Mr. LaFontaine's coloring books previously and always enjoyed them. They are very high quality illustrations. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys coloring, and especially to anyone who is into sports cars. There is also a paragraph of information on each page about the car. There are 44 pages total, so it is a generous coloring book.

A Great "Time Passer",

As I stated in another review, I often find myself in situations where I am waiting on my companion as she shops, conducts business or visits. So in those times of waiting, I pull out my trusty lap desk, my colored pencils and an adult coloring book -- this time, Bruce La Fontaine's "Sports Cars."Whenever I see a product with Bruce's name and Dover press, I automatically know that I will enjoy it, and this is no exception. Bruce included cars from many eras, and the Stutz Bearcat even has a horse in the background. With Bruce's work, you get practice doing backgrounds -- nature and man made. So you better have some sienna, ocre and umber amoungst your colors. Bruce includes enough detail to keep a conscientious coloring maven busy for hours. The pictures are meticulously rendered. I especially enjoy the stonework and plants. I use Crayola and Rose Art pencils and have recently addded some Prangs, Loews and Faber Castels to my pencil inventory. I have tried Prismacolor, but they tend to be too soft for me. If you are an adult into coloring and you enjoy meticulous detail, this is a coloring book you will enjoy.
