Superficial,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sports Fan's Guide to America: The Ulitmate Travel Companion for the Avid Fan (Paperback)
A very superficial and disappointing book. Barely gives more information than can be found on team web sites and less information than in other books. Basically a book of seating diagrams and driving directions. Very little commentary on the venues or the cities. No pictures. Glosses over the Canadian cities. There is a need for this kind of book for sports fans and with the publication of this particular book, sadly, the need still exists.

Look it over before you buy it....,

This review is from: The Sports Fan's Guide to America: The Ulitmate Travel Companion for the Avid Fan (Paperback)
The Sports Fans' Guide to America brags that it has information on sports venues even ones that will be opening in the future, yet it doesn't even have the Arizona DBacks or thier stadium listed (this is their 2nd season). This book is basically a look-up guide for seating charts for a lot of sports arenas in North America as well as directions on how to get there. And as Tulumello writes in the front of his book, you can find these same charts in the local phonebooks. So why buy his book? He does have a few good general pointers about buying tickets, but mostly this book is too general, covers too many sports arenas and glosses over all of them, with very little information on anything. He also mentions his preference for Amtrak over air travel - that it can often be faster and cheaper. Like the 12 hour train from Minneapolis instead of the 50 minute flight? It would be more helpful if someone wrote one book on ballparks, one on football fields, one on basketball courts, etc. and spend more time on each city. With insider info on each venue.
