I have used this book extensively in family medicine clinic and it is a great resource. I only gave it 4 stars because I thought the pages in the previous version were easier to read with larger print, particularly for my geriatric patients. The newer edition has updated handouts but the design is not as patient friendly. It would also be nice to see the text come with a CD ROM of the text in pdf formats to print patient handouts from.

I was introduced to this book during my family medicine residency, and have been using it ever since. Many of my students, residents and fellow attendings have thought this book to be extremely helpful in giving practical advice to patients. Each section is cataloged by body part (arm, knee, shoulder, hip etc) and has good descriptions of what the problem is, how you diagnose it, and how you go about treatment, including illustrations of stretching and strengthening exercises.

The only caveat is that it is written at a higher literacy level than I'd like for our urban, underserved patients. I'd also like to see it in Spanish someday.

This book arrived in excellent condition and in the time promised. I am very pleased with the service I received. This is an excellent book for helping patients with exercises to return them to better functioning. Thank you J.R.

I am a Certified Athletic Trainer working in a high school setting, and I have found this book to very helpful over the past few weeks. I realize this isn't the newest version of the text, but it is great nonetheless.

This book does an excellent job of explaining injuries, management, and prognoses. Expect only the most common MSK injuries. It really is a wonderful patient resource!

I am happy with this book. I have used the first edition of the book and liked that I could give my patients print outs of the exercises we were doing. I also like that it puts an explanation of the injuries in general terms so the patient can understand their injury.
I purchased this edition of the book and the only thing I'm unhappy with is that the pages are very thin. I tear a page w/ every turn.
Other than that...the book its self it very useful!

The Sports Medicine Patient Advisor is one of the nicest patient friendly guides I have ever seen, while not talking down, they explain things so nicely, making it easy to understand WHY it happens and HOW to make it better. Not just for sports injuries, can be used in Occupational Health, and really just everyday life's strains, sprains and pains. Nice clear exercises recommendations to help strengthen the areas involved, and get people moving again asap. Marvelous!

Exercises and descriptions of sports-related and use-related injuries and appropriate (easy) excercises to improve their recovery.

I don't know how I practiced medicine without this book. I wish I would have had it years ago. It is in lay terms so easy for patients to understand. The subjects are vast, the explanations brief but very informative. Easy to copy handouts. The best book I have in my medical library at work.

This is a Great Book. My physical therapist used this bbok to show me some muscle strengthening exercises. I was so impressed withthe book that I bought one for myself.
