I'm 5'11" and the bag barely fits me.
KRD
This is a good bag for that - not only because it's pretty light, but because it kind of forces you to make good packing decisions.

Shoulder straps are not padded and are very uncomfortable.

Just got back from a nice 3 day campout in Utah. This was my first adventure with this pack and I loved it, got a solid 3 days in it and did abou 8 miles with it. Can't wait for me next adventure! The pack seemed small at first, but after I loaded it and started hiking I found that it rested well on my back and didn't bulge out on the sides like other packs do. We cut some trails and because it was so narrow I was able to move around with ease. Great pack!

EDIT (May 16, 2012)
I have had this pack for a couple months now and love it, however I have found that since the torso is not adjustable people either love it hate it. I am headed out for an around the world adventure with a week in Hawaii and a week in China, I have tested the bag in pretty crazy, wet, and rugged conditions and know it will stand up to what I am about to face. (Will post photos of the pack when I return.) I wonder what will be more rough on the pack, the adventure or TSA!?!?!? ....

This was an awesome bag!! I flew from New York City to Hungary and traveled for 4 weeks around Western Europe and Russia. The good this about this bag was that it was very light and durable enough for me to stuff the heck out of it and never tore or broke. I packed a bath towel and a twin sized sleeping bag that shrunk really well in the lower compartment. 3 jeans, 2 shorts, 1 gym short, a light water proof jacket (wind breaker), 8 pairs of socks and 8 underwear, and 5 t-shirts in the larger middle compartment. 1 sweater in the top compartment. 1 umbrella in the side mesh pocket and a pair of flip flops in the outer front pocket. It passed through security perfectly fine and was accepted as a carry-on bag. Because of this, I also took a gym bag to take the rest of my stuff like toilet trees, sneakers, etc. So never had to check in any bags at all!

I did use the built in water protector cover once and it did the job. Very comfortable to wear since I'm a 5'9 165lbs guy.

Honestly, can't think of anything bad to say about this bag. It did everything I wanted to do! :) so I'm very pleased.

I'll start with the good. I use an Osprey pack, and me and my fiancé were going on a 5 day 4 night trek in the U.P., me bearing the grunt of the supplies I needed a pack for her (5'2" 110lbs) to carry her basic supplies (sleeping pad, bag ect.). Nothing to fancy, as she would only use it about once a year and it didn't need to be very big. This pack fit the budget and size requirements. The quality of the bag is great, for the money I felt the construction of the pack was phenomenal. And Throughout the trek, no issues with durability occurred. The built in rain-fly was nice and worked well for keeping the dew off at night and rain off during the day.

The bad is the obvious, the bag is unadjustable so you can't tailor the bag to fit specific body types, it was slightly large for her and therefore it rode on her hips the wrong way. The hip pads are terrible and didn't bear ANY of the weight causing it to be very painful on her upper back. I chalk this up to poor decision not to have her fully test this out pre-trek. The sleeping bag compartment is TINY. She has a north face 3 season and NO way did it come close to compressing small enough to fit in there. My 2 season compresses very small and wouldn't fit either. Instead we put the tiny inflatable sleeping pad in there and attached the bag to the outside to the straps.

All in all I will say this, if this pack happens to fit you (since you can't adjust it) out of the box then you will have a decent pack for a great price. If not, you'll be stuck with a painful pack and an unpleasant journey.

There are several major flaws with this product. The major flaw is with the straps where there is not enough padding on the torso side straps to provide the required support to relieve weight off of the shoulders. The straps end up sliding up over the hip bones, constricting the abdomen and the rib cage, instead of comfortably sitting at the hips. This could also be due to the fact that the torso length of the bag cannot be adjusted, but the lack of padding in all of the straps only makes it worse. In addition, the side pockets made to hold extra bottles of water are too small, such that when the bag is full, and bulges out a bit, you can't fit anything in them. Otherwise, all of the other compartments and pockets are very convenient and work well. Overall, it seems like the backpack is made to look like it's made for backpacking, while not functionally built to withstand the weight that it was built to carry.

I took this bag with me on a 3 day camping trip and I loved it!!! It has a surprisingly large amount of space yet, it's small and lightweight. It's perfect for short camping or hiking trips. There's a place designed for everything that you could imagine taking on your trip and the quality is incredible! The torso adjustment is a nice feature because you can literally adjust the pack to fit your body. I'll definitely be using this again.

Just make sure you do your research. I'm 5'11" and the bag barely fits me. If I were an inch taller I would've probably sent it back but I think it works well for my size.
