Editorial Reviews

2010 release from the Alt/Noise rockers. Combining noisy guitars, pounding rhythms and dark Post-Punk vibes in fresh ways isn't easy, but Weekend somehow does it effortlessly. Sports is one of the most assured debuts in recent memory, full of rumbling rhythms, layers of loud guitar and most of all great songs that pay special attention to texture and atmosphere while leavening even the most riotous moments with unexpected shards of melody.

4.0 out of 5 stars sweetly distorted shoegaze pop/noise November 23, 2010
Format:Audio CD
San Francisco debut of gorgeous, summery pop melodies buried deeply under mountains of
explosive guitar feedback noise. Brittle-shard shoegaze waves of lovely-heart, brooding barbed-
wire guitar that caress with the haunting post-punk wail of stoned & forlorn teenagers--set free
with their guitars, a stack of Beach Boys, Ramones & Joy Division albums, and a wall of severely
overloaded and distorted amps decorated with skulls. Reminiscent of Jesus & Mary Chain, The
Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Black Tambourines, No Age, A Place To Bury Strangers, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars just a great album November 14, 2010
Format:Audio CD
A great debut from Weekend, which calls back to post-punk and shoegaze greats while moving the noise genre a big step forward. The album flows well and is full of potential. Uhh... buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very great shoegaze punk album September 24, 2012
Format:Audio CD
This album is aaaamazing. It was one of the best albums to come out in 2010 and I don't know why it wasn't more popular. Weekend is probably the greatest shoegaze band in the game today.
