He was a real student and teacher of table tennis. He had the ability to express himself in a manner that the player could relate to his writings. I had the honor to compete against him several times. I came close but never had a gotcha! I ranked # 8 in the nation at my peak. Dick was #1 for many years and was truly the Babe Ruth of table tennis.
