5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
A very accurate guide to this area of Utah. I liked it better than Fodors or other guides to the area.

Whether your interest is in 4-wheeling or hiking in and around Arches and Canyonlands National Parks you can do a lot better with many other guide books. This book can be classified as "once over very lightly" in terms of guiding you to real sites and adventures. Not only are there interesting places within the National parks not mentioned, the large surrounding area, much of it Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, is hardly covered. From personal experience, it is possible to spend weeks exploring the BLM territory without going into one of the parks. Wait until you get to Moab, Utah, before you buy any book. Try the Moab Information Center first as they may have books not sold in the National Parks shops such as David Day's excellent book on 4-wheel driving and hiking in Canyonlands. Also, look for any of the books by Fran (F. A.) Barnes or Jack Bickers.
