5.0 out of 5 stars Spotlight on Desire
I really liked this book, at the end I wanted more... I would really recommend this book for a Good Read. I Love Reading books written by Anita Richmond-Bunkley. The books are always full of electric charge and I can't put the books down, so I end up reading to the finish and sorry when it ends. Thank You for all of your insight and positive energy.

2.0 out of 5 stars I've read better
I hate to be the one to disagree but this book did not do it for me. It was predictable, drawn out and just plain old fluff. Now don't get me wrong I love a good romance as much as the next girl but this was not it. They kept saying how strong the Caprice character was and yet Jewel was overly emotional and silly. And Taye was forgettable. In the end I wished I had saved...

4.0 out of 5 stars (3.5 Stars) A Good Dramatic Love Story, August 11, 2009
This review is from: Spotlight on Desire (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Daytime soap opera star Jewel Blaine brings drama on and off the screen. When she is forced to work with a sexy new director, she keeps reminding herself that she does not have time for a man in her life nor does she mix business with pleasure. However, Taye Elliott is making it hard to keep to those rules. Taye is taking on a new challenge with directing daytime television. He also has decided after meeting Jewel that he wants to direct her on and off the screen. Jewel is trying hard to fight her attraction to Taye, while Taye is trying hard to convince her how good they would be together. When Jewel finally gives in, her and Taye are great together. She is even thinking marriage and children. But as always, all good things must come to an end. Jewel overhears a conversation that causes the fantasy to come to a screeching halt. After Taye tries to explain, he leaves the ball in her court. It's now left up to Jewel to decide what she is going to do now.

Spotlight on Desire is a good read. The plot is well developed. There are also a couple of sub-plots going on that help add to the depth of the story. The primary characters, as well as the secondary characters, are all well developed. This always helps add to how enjoyable a story is. The unique setting of a daytime soap opera is also a nice change of scenery. Overall, Spotlight on Desire was a good, dramatic love story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Summer Indulgence, June 10, 2009
This review is from: Spotlight on Desire (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Anita Bunkley is one of my favorite authors. Her latest release does not disappoint! From the first pages, I was drawn into Jewel's diva attitude and lavish lifestyle. As the story progressed, I could not wait to see what happened next with Jewel and Taye.
Bunkley creates characters that draw the reader in and the storylines are current and entertaining. She writes for the mature reader who enjoys true romance, passion and a great story. This is a great book for the beach or summer relaxing!

4.0 out of 5 stars Spotlight on Desire, May 30, 2009
This review is from: Spotlight on Desire (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you use to watch soap opera back in the day or if you still watch your favorite soap then you know everybody has a favorite and the Proud and the Passionate is no different. Jewel Blaine is the leading lady and the star of the soap opera P&P and we get to meet Jewel after all the lights are off and she live the studio.

Jewel has made the decision not to date any of her co-worker, producer or directors because of a high profile break where everybody can see and after that Jewel went into hiding. Now you have to read the book to find out how all of this came about..............it is just to good.

Then walk in Taye Elliott a former stuntman who got hurt on the job but instead of given up he decided to give directing a try and is very successful at it. Taye comes from a family of Doctors who all went into the family business "The Elliott Cosmetic Surgery Center" his father & 3 brothers. Now Taye went to medical school and was almost finish when he decided medical school is not for him his path is different from the rest of the family and needly to say they was not happy when he decided he wanted to do something else.

Taye & Jewel first meeting was a little intense because since Jewel is the star of the show and she has been on the show the longer she felt she could give Taye more of inside look of the show and she also wanted to make sure not to many changes was going to come about. Taye is coming after the last director died very suddenly of a heart attack so the case and crew are still grieving so Jewel is like the mother to the case and crew to keep everything the same. Taye is in agreement with that but what they don't count on is the attraction between them.

They try to fight it but in the end the heart knows what and who they want. This is the first book I have read by Anita Buckley and it was good. I recommend reading and enjoy being apart of the Taye & Jewel lives plus it give you kind of a inside look into doing a soap opera.

You know back in the day I was so bad with looking a soap opera I would have 3 VCR going taping all the soaps on channel 2, 5, & 11 so you know what I was doing after all of my household stuff was done. Soap Opera heaven that was back in the day. Now day I see them every now and then cause I tell if you have been away from soap for some year and start back to watch you have miss a beat. The only thing that might change is the kids you remember as children and grown up............smiling. If you had favorite like Erica Kane-AMC, or Marlena Evans--DOL then you will enjoy this book.
