5.0 out of 5 stars Spotlight, wall charger and neck lanyard, January 21, 2011
I had previously purchased just the spotlight and plugged it into my car dash charger. Seemed to work pretty well. I was concerned that it did not have a full charge right out of the packaging. My normal driving habits prevent me from getting a full charge in the car. When the ignition is off the light is not charging. Which is good for the car battery as you have no constant drain on it when the car is not running. The instructions that come with this recommend a least an 8 hour (overnight) charge before using. So I bought the home wall charger and a lanyard. The charger work's as advertised. Pretty simple. Left it on that overnight and the next day I played with the light a lot. It never seemed to dim. I put it back in the car dash. I plan to put it back on the wall charger at least once a week to keep it fully charged. I suppose if you drove long distances regularly the wall charger would not be needed. The wall charger also swivels so no matter where your wall outlet its easy to use. When in the charger the light itself has 2nd LED (red in color output) that is glowing. It is a much less intense than the LED light you get from turning the light itself on out of the chargerand is bright enough to use as a night light. There is also a very very small led on the charger itself. That LED and the 2nd LED in the light itself are on when your charging. The charger also comes with an adapter in case your dash charger is too deep to make the proper contacts on the charging circuit. I have a couple other similar lights from other manufactureres and this charger works with all of them. I tried it with a dash charger for a cell phone and it worked on that as well. Which is nice in case you misplace your cell phone wall charger. The charger stays in the wall recepticle very securely when you have the light plugged in. I had concerns that the weight of the light etc would make it want to fall out of the wall recepticle. I need not have worried.

the lanyard is great. It is high quality and has a little rubber boot that slips(securely) over the charging end of the light. This keeps the switch and the led end free to do its job. So if you need to get out of the car and move around, like for changing a tire or looking under the hood or flagging someone down etc it is very handy. I keep the lanyard draped over my rear view mirror so it is handy when I pull the light out of the dash charger. The lanyard can be used around your neck or wrist. You could hang it off something else depending on your needs at the time.

The light, the charger and lanyard are all very well made and should stand up well for there intended purpose. I think this a great combination purchase. The light is not like those high powered flashlights. It is bright enough in a dark room to easily light up whatever you need to do. Outside it does not have a real significant "throw" but enough to do the types of things I described above. I also think this is a good inexpensive emergency light set up for around the house. If you leave it charging all the time its a good night light in the kids room or a bathroom. If the power ever goes out you will have a nearby highly portable emergency light and not have to worry about dead batteries. I plan to puchase a couple more of these lights, lanyards and chargers to place around the house for that purpose. The lanyard can be draped over the wall charger at home as well to keep it handy there. Kids or pets may find it a handy toy. Of course semi-adults like myself find it pretty cool too!

This review is from: Spotlight Home Helper Kit Rechargeable LED Vehicle Light with Lanyard and A/C Wall Charger (Sports)
I Got the 12 V DC version of the rechargable spot light for christmas, an absoulately must have. The brightest single LED I've ever seen. Big spot across the room. 12V lighter recharger. I use it to get around the house at night without tripping on everything or wakeing the wife. FIVE STARS.
