4.0 out of 5 stars Bardzo dobrze, ale nie doskonale ~, August 1, 2010
This review is from: Czesc, jak sie masz? Spotykamy sie w Polsce (First Communicative Coursebook of Polish) (English and Polish Edition) (Paperback)
This is one of the better Polish language learning workbooks out there (for English speakers)...not that there is a wide selection. This makes sense as far as one lesson building on the last. The one thing I found difficult is that there is no English translation of lessons; so to translate any words covered in previous lessons you have to keep flipping back and forth. Also, often phrases are not literally translated between languages; and without the English translation, this is left to the student to interpret and assume. I do like the layout of the lessons, the exercises are relevant, and the language usage explanations are concise & easy to understand. Overall a very good textbook, but you still need a tutor on some level to really feel comfortable with the translations. This is not a completely self-teach guide. If it had the translations tho and maybe an answer key, it could be. All that being said, I recommend this textbook, & I will buy the next level.
