4.0 out of 5 stars Works great with iPhones, decent car speakerphone.
There are some very mixed reviews for this speakerphone, so I'll try to review it only as I've used it.

I have paired it with two iPhones, a Mac, and a PC, all via Bluetooth. It connected fine to all four items without issue. I have never wired it directly. The pairing with the Mac and PC was done simply to see if it'd work. I tried it with Skype, it seemed...

2.0 out of 5 stars Speakerphone is Large Sound Quality not Great
Working from my house, I am on my company-provided cell phone all day. I grew tired of having an ear piece in my ear, so I bought this to use in my home office.

I tried it with Skype, it seemed to work fine, and I stopped using it and moved it to the car.

In the car, it pairs daily with both iPhones. Never an issue so far (after 3.5 months). It has a visor "clip" of sorts built into the base, but it's flimsy and I don't trust it. I have a place on the dash for it, but if you're buying it to clip to your visor, it seems to me that the clip/base will break easily - but I don't know that it will.

The included microphone provides better clarity to those you're calling when driving, but the built-in mic will do - it just doesn't sound _as_ good. The speaker is loud enough, but not by much. I'd prefer greater volume. Sound quality, both in-car and to the callee, is very good for Bluetooth and approaches wired quality.

I rate it four stars because, as a Bluetooth device, it has worked for me without fail. Many other Bluetooth accessories have failed in that respect for me. Sound quality is certainly adequate, and if your car is relatively quiet, volume is also more than adequate. I basically get in the car, turn it on, see that it has paired, drive to wherever, and turn it off. I keep the volume at max and rarely mute it, so the power button is pretty much the only thing I press on it. I charge it regularly. It has worked without issue for me. Although I haven't used it as such, I like that it comes with an AC adapter and the ability to use it in-home as a speakerphone as well.

If I could improve aspects, I'd do the following:

(1) Add redial, caller ID, etc - as it is, it's basically a headset in terms of functionality.

(2) make the visor clip sturdier (metal clip?) because, as it is, I don't trust it.

(3) make the max volume louder, at least if it's plugged into a power source

Is it perfect? Certainly not. But I've almost always been disappointed by Bluetooth devices, and this one has worked for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Speakerphone for car, December 3, 2008
This review is from: Spracht AURA Mobile Hands-Free Bluetooth Speakerphone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I use the Aura Mobile BT in my car and I love it. The new law in California forced me to find a hands free solution - unfortunately, I purchased the Jabra visor mounted speakerphone first and the Jabra was TERRIBLE.

I have used the Spracht speakerphone with my Blackberry Bold and a Nokia phone and everything worked flawlessly.

I liked this unit so much I brought it with me on a trip over the holiday and used it on a long drive in the rental car (and thankfully remembered to bring it back).
I even ended up buying several of these Aura Mobile units as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars PREPARE TO HEAR!, December 25, 2008
This review is from: Spracht AURA Mobile Hands-Free Bluetooth Speakerphone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I wanted this BAD! I wear Completely-In-Canal hearing aids in both ears and therefore all "ear-bud" type bluetooth devises are not compatible with my ears/hearing. I was worried this devise might not pair with my iPhone, but whaddaya know.....it did! The iPhone speakerphone is terrible, but the Aura Mobile BT more than makes up for it. Prepare to hear the person you called! Even with 3 kids in the backseat, this little beauty keeps me from saying "huh" or "I'm on speakerphone, say that again". Having this in my car is such a relief.

It comes with all the cables you need to attach to everything. Bluetooth to the cell, wired to the PC for Skype, wall plug, car plug, etc.

Blocks road noise perfectly. Good sound. Clips to visor well. Paired to my blackberry immediately. Charges fast, holds the charge.

Love it!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Speakerphone is Large Sound Quality not Great, March 15, 2010

Working from my house, I am on my company-provided cell phone all day. I grew tired of having an ear piece in my ear, so I bought this to use in my home office. The first speakerphone arrived with a broken visor clip; it would not click shut. It also had surface scratches and appeared to have been used, although it was advertised as new. I hooked up the Bluetooth quite easily and began making calls. Folks on the other end said the sound was not good, that my voice cut in and out. The incoming sound was muffled, in spite of the very large speaker. I then disconnected the Bluetooth and connected using the provided cable. The sound quality was no better this way. Later on in a telephone call, I disconnected the speakerphone and went back to using the earpiece. Then the person on the other line said, "that sounds much better". I sent the first one back thinking maybe it was damaged. The new one arrived and appeared to be in good shape; i.e. visor clip worked fine and no scratches or dents. Hooked it up and the sound was no better than the first one. Cheers to Amazon for their return policy. I wish this phone had better sound, as I'm still using the earpiece

5.0 out of 5 stars Great conference speaker, August 23, 2010

I use this in the office conference room to hook up to my cell phone. It is perfect for conference calls in general, as we don't have an office line in the conference room, and great for calls that start on my cell phone and end up needs to be conference calls with other people. Works perfectly with my iphone. Sound quality is good, serves its purpose very well.

I am quite pleased with my new Bluetooth speakerphone for my car. It took a couple of tries to sync with my Palm Centro the first time but has worked without problem since then. I got it on a "gold box" deal for 1/2 price! The fact that it will act as a speakerphone is a bonus for me.

I purchased the Spracht AURA hands free speakerphone 12 months ago. The unit was rather large but had great speakers and good voice pick up. A plus for a noisy car

The style is very dated and the battery life is horrible. I am in my car most of the day and averaged about 6 hours per battery charge in standby mode and much less if I am actively using it. I have since purchased a different brand due to the extremely short battery life. If you can keep it plugged into your charger, it is a great speakerphone.
