Product Description

Product Description

Get close to any object to spray using a standard extension pole. Many homes have wasp nests beyond the 20' reach of most wasp and hornet products. Helps reduce wind factor when spraying causing waste. Easier to hit openings at greater distances. Will hold almost all aerosol cans and will fit on any extension pole.

From the Manufacturer

The Spray Close Spray Extender is a unique tool that lets its user spray most aerosol cans from the end of an extension pole. The Spray Extender allows the user to reach distances safely on the ground or in the air to avoid stinging wasps and hornets. The Spray Extender is designed to work with all types of spray can trigger tops and is fully adjustable to cans sized between 11oz. to 22oz. It is useful for spray insecticides, spray paint, pruning sealer spray, window washing spray, ceiling texture spray and more. The Spray Extender reduces the amount of chemicals introduced into the environment, and direct exposure of those chemicals to the user. The Spray Close Spray Extender comes ready to use. It works by inserting your chosen spray can into its receiving arms, then attaching the device onto the end of any standard extension pole (not included.) To operate, you lift or position the can in front of the object or hole you wish to spray, and pull on the 15 ft. extension cord. The can begins spraying, and continues until you release your pull on the cord or the can is emptied of its contents. No assembly required.

The one thing that comes to mind when I used this product for the first time was, "You almost Got it"
I think the idea is great, but this product falls short of actually working correctly on it own. I had to add some additional home made parts to make this product work.
Basically when you put the spray can in the device and then pull on the string, the can slips in the holder and the sprayer level never makes good enough contact with the spray button on the can for it to spray. What I did to solve this problem was to first secure the can to the can holder part of the device. That worked better, but I then had an additional problem. The additional problem was that the can holder is so thin and flimsy that it would bend under the pressure of pulling the string. So to fix this problem, I took a small piece of wood and taped it to the back of the can holder and to the poll the device was on, This kept the holder from bending. With both of these modifications, I was able to use the product. But it was far from working as well as the commercials show.
So my advice is this, if you need this product to use once or twice and you have the ability to modify it to work correctly, it is worth the 10 bucks. But if you need a completely working solution, better call a professional or look for another product.

I made this video to show how worthless the spray close spray extender is! Do not waste your money on this item!

I was looking for a solution to address some bee and wasp nests under our eaves, but without dragging out a ladder and ending up covered in spray residual. This inexpensive item really does the trick! Construction is of satisfactory quality (not flimsy, but not like steel, either). It easily fits the oversized cans of bee spray sold at most home centers and snugly threads on to any extension pole with a male threaded adapter. The thin string provided for remotely pulling the trigger is serviceable, but can be easily replaced with something more substantial.

The key, I found, was to making sure the can was not inserted to tightly to the top trigger actuator. The trigger actuator needs a bit of space to be able to press down fully on the spray button. Be sure to test it on the ground. With it installed and tested, I was able to extend my reach 16 feet with my extender pole. This, plus the 10 - 12 foot reach of the spray allowed me to get all but one of the eave nests I was aiming for. The one I couldn't get is up well over 30 feet, so I'll need to break down and get the ladder out. AT least it can be a shorter ladder than without the Spray Extender!

A really clever product at a reasonable price that works well.

We recently built a home with a beautiful wooded lot. The downside is that lots of "critters" like our house too! We have a major problem with wasps and yellowjacket nests under the eaves of our house. My husband travels on business and I end up doing alot of the house chores. I have tried reaching the nests with sprays that claim to reach marathon distances only to have them fall just a few feet short of my target. I have also tried extension ladders...but I almost had an accident falling off when the angry wasps decided to bomb me before I could get down. This is why I was excited to find this gadget on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use and it fit perfectly on an extension pole I already had. I am only 5'2" and this thing is a life saver! I have even used this to spray a bat that decided to roost in the gables above my front porch. I found this to be much safer and more humane than the bb gun alternative I was considering! I have already used this item several times since purchasing it and assume this summer will get lots more use. I highly recommend this product.

This extender is absolutely worthless unless your spray can requires almost no pressure to depress the spray button. If any pressure other than a very, very light pressing action is needed to activate the spray then the very cheaply weak plastic extender's structure bends and unable to press down and release the spray.

I tried to use this extender with EcoSmart Wasp & Hornet Spray and it was a joke. Save you money and find a better extender that actually works.

A hornet's nest 20 feet up on a dormer's eave was too far for a ground assault, and so I tried this product. Luckily, I already had a 15' standard thread extension pole on hand. The extender is easy to adjust to the spray can size, but the nylon string included with the kit is very thin and the force needed to activate a can of wasp/hornet spray is significant. I had to don a leather glove to avoid cutting my hand when I pulled the string with enough force to start the spray. Even then, I had to resort to the manufacturer's suggestion of adding a rubber band to the lever arm to provide extra power to the action in order to fully depress the spray button. Result: success with the hornet's next, but it took three cans of spray to deliver two cans' worth on the nest, with the remainder dribbled on the roof.

Despite the hassles, for the price, yes I would buy this again - after all, it saved me from climbing an extension ladder to spray the nest and almost surely several stings before I could dash back down!
