4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
The roof of the house (on Long Island in NY) had areas of thick moss that was actually growing into the asphalt shingles and was getting worse every year. I tried a test area with a power washer but the moss would take some of the shingle with it as it was blasted off. I bought this product because it is biodegradable and requires no rinsing. 1.0 out of 5 stars Spray and Forget is worthless
I bought Spray and Forget at a local Ace hardware
store last October. I applied it according to
directions and waited......and waited....and waited.

There is absolutely no sign of improvement to the
black stain or mold on the light green roof shingles.

This product is worthless!! Don't waste your money on it.
It does...

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, June 16, 2010
This review is from: Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q Super Concentrated Roof Cleaner 32 Oz (Kitchen)
I bought the size container that included the built in sprayer. The sprayer shoots a long distance so it is possible to apply product from the ground (it was a ranch house). I wanted to be 'up and close' while applying the product so I used a different hose sprayer (with a wider spray pattern) and climbed a ladder to the roof dragging the hose with me. I was not sure if I had enough product to do the whole roof (and I was not about to spend another $49 for another container on a product that had not proved itself so far) so I diluted the product with water before using the hose sprayer. I had almost enough to cover the roof and only had to mix a little more to complete the application. After a week the affected parts of the roof appeared to get lighter. After 2 weeks I climbed the ladder again and noticed that most of the moss was turning brown and I resprayed the areas that were still greenish with the remainder of the product. Today I climbed the ladder to remove some fallen branches from the roof (this is 9 months later [and a winter season] since the application) and amazingly there is no moss on the roof. There are some spots where the asphalt is missing the granular stuff on top but the moss is gone. This stuff worked for my roof problem and probably added a few more years to the life of the shingles.

5.0 out of 5 stars works if applied properly, July 26, 2011
This review is from: Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q Super Concentrated Roof Cleaner 32 Oz (Kitchen)
I had the option of hiring someone to go up on my roof to clean it with harsh chemicals which could threaten the plants underneath and also wildlife -- the birds and squirrels I feed - or trying this product.

The secret is applying it when it is NOT GOING TO RAIN for a few days. Being from South Florida, that is a challenge, but I sprayed in the spring before the rainy season. You just attach the concentrate to the hose. I got up on a ladder, though, so i could reach the top as the spray goes about twenty feet. As I was spraying I noticed alot of black was coming off. And after a few rainy days, the roof looks like new.

You need at least two or three to do an entire roof, but I think it is well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product - just need time for it to work., January 15, 2011

I originally wrote a bad review for the product, but I'm now ammending my comments and rating. I tried everything to clear the green algea from my roof, but nothing worked until I applied this product late last summer / early fall. My roof cleared up in the spring and early summer this year. I'm happy to say that it's now clean! I'll be spraying the other side of the roof this weekend where I hadn't sprayed before to see if it will clear the black looking algea stain on the other side of the roof.

4.0 out of 5 stars It Works!, October 2, 2010
This review is from: Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q Super Concentrated Roof Cleaner 32 Oz (Kitchen)
I had (just cut down) a HUGE pin oak tree that overhung the house and shaded a large part of my roof. Moss was thick and starting to creep under the shingles where the shade was dense. I used this just as the instructions said and waited.I did it in the early spring. In about 2 weeks it was all dead and dying, and I could hose it off. Now in the fall, there is no discoloration where it was applied, nor new growth. IT WORKS. I am in north central Pennsylvania and will use again if needed.

This stuff works great. It does exactly what it is advertised to do. Just spray green mossy growth on your roof, and it's gone. The product doesn't kill your grass or plants, and is very easy to use. It's kind of expensive, but for what it does, it's worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars spray and regret, January 27, 2012
This review is from: Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q Super Concentrated Roof Cleaner 32 Oz (Kitchen)
your killing a plant on the roof and it doesn't kill plant life on the ground ?, please! all chemicals will harm plants if not used correctly ,use the method approved by the asphalt roofing manufactures association and you will not void any guarantees and it comes down to using chlorine , not sodium hydroxide which is a degreaser. and hire a professional, you can kill moss & lichen with vinegar it's the black thats tough you can use liquid pool chlorine 60 percent water and 40 percent chlorine and don't rinse water shubs etc during application and put heavy duty bags on your down spouts to catch what comes down the gutter

I had high hopes for this product but it was just abunch of hooey. I sprayed my roof about 2 months ago it looks the same. I should go with the old timers remedies, a copper strip along the peak. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Is Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q good for concrete sidewalks?, October 29, 2011
This review is from: Spray & Forget SFSRC-6Q Super Concentrated Roof Cleaner 32 Oz (Kitchen)
A True Value store sold me this item to clean sidewalks. I questioned that it listed "Roof Cleaner" without mentioning sidewalks. I was assured that this cleaner would work for sidewalks. I wanted to use the spray with the hose so I wouldn't have to mix the concentrate. Does anyone have any experience using this product for sidewalks?
