Because of this, I did not do proper research on this product before making the purchase.
Duffer.
In three months all moss or black discoloring is gone and your roof looks like new again.

The roof of the house (on Long Island in NY) had areas of thick moss that was actually growing into the asphalt shingles and was getting worse every year. I tried a test area with a power washer but the moss would take some of the shingle with it as it was blasted off. I bought this product because it is biodegradable and requires no rinsing. I bought the size container that included the built in sprayer. The sprayer shoots a long distance so it is possible to apply product from the ground (it was a ranch house). I wanted to be 'up and close' while applying the product so I used a different hose sprayer (with a wider spray pattern) and climbed a ladder to the roof dragging the hose with me. I was not sure if I had enough product to do the whole roof (and I was not about to spend another $49 for another container on a product that had not proved itself so far) so I diluted the product with water before using the hose sprayer. I had almost enough to cover the roof and only had to mix a little more to complete the application. After a week the affected parts of the roof appeared to get lighter. After 2 weeks I climbed the ladder again and noticed that most of the moss was turning brown and I resprayed the areas that were still greenish with the remainder of the product. Today I climbed the ladder to remove some fallen branches from the roof (this is 9 months later [and a winter season] since the application) and amazingly there is no moss on the roof. There are some spots where the asphalt is missing the granular stuff on top but the moss is gone. This stuff worked for my roof problem and probably added a few more years to the life of the shingles.

I live in Florida treasure coast, lots of humidity. sprayed this on 4 weeks ago. After a week (no rain), was concerned it was a waste of money. Now, 3 weeks later and several rain storms, a definite improvement in the black mold on the shingles. Suspect it may takes several months, as the literature suggests to see best results, but so far it now looks promising. Patience is a good thing.

I originally wrote a bad review for the product, but I'm now ammending my comments and rating. I tried everything to clear the green algea from my roof, but nothing worked until I applied this product late last summer / early fall. My roof cleared up in the spring and early summer this year. I'm happy to say that it's now clean! I'll be spraying the other side of the roof this weekend where I hadn't sprayed before to see if it will clear the black looking algea stain on the other side of the roof.

I had (just cut down) a HUGE pin oak tree that overhung the house and shaded a large part of my roof. Moss was thick and starting to creep under the shingles where the shade was dense. I used this just as the instructions said and waited.I did it in the early spring. In about 2 weeks it was all dead and dying, and I could hose it off. Now in the fall, there is no discoloration where it was applied, nor new growth. IT WORKS. I am in north central Pennsylvania and will use again if needed.

I had the option of hiring someone to go up on my roof to clean it with harsh chemicals which could threaten the plants underneath and also wildlife -- the birds and squirrels I feed - or trying this product.

The secret is applying it when it is NOT GOING TO RAIN for a few days. Being from South Florida, that is a challenge, but I sprayed in the spring before the rainy season. You just attach the concentrate to the hose. I got up on a ladder, though, so i could reach the top as the spray goes about twenty feet. As I was spraying I noticed alot of black was coming off. And after a few rainy days, the roof looks like new.

You need at least two or three to do an entire roof, but I think it is well worth it.

Won't know for 3 to 6 months if it works (that is how long label says it takes). Out of the box, cheap plastic hose connector would not connect to my hose without 75% water coming out the back end. Only worked after connecting with water off, move switch to "mix" and getting my son to turn the water on/off while I held the business end towards the roof. All because some slick business executive tried to squeeze an extra couple of pennies in profit out of the product. Listen up slick business executive; I would rather pay a few extra cents for a connection that works the way it is supposed to!

On-line picture shows hose connector for spraying. Received product does not have this and a sprayer is required. This is misleading and cost me extra to use product.

SPRAYED IT ON MY MOSS COVERED BARN YESTERDAY. AS ADVERTISED IT WAS EASY AND SPRAYS FAR. HAD TO STAND ON A LADDER TO REACH THE PEAK BUT NO BIG DEAL. ALL THE MOSS TURNED FROM GREEN TO BROWN WITHIN HOURS. I AM IMPRESSED SO FAR. I WILL REPORT BACK AFTER A MONTH OR TWO AND LET YOU KNOW HOW IT WORKED.
