This is the third time that I have used this product, and have been very pleased with its performance and the final results, each time. I use it on my car restoration projects, for touch up over existing clear coat finishes. The one important thing that they don't tell you in the advertising for this product is that once the can is activated, it only has a 48 hour pot life. I've used it with success for up to 10 days after activation, but after that it sets up in the can. Other than it's short life, it's a great product.

I stripped my motorcycle tank down to bare metal and re-painted using regular Duplicolor rattlecan spray. I spent a lot of time and a lot of money on bondo (there was damage below the paint that I had no clue existed until I stripped it....surprise surprise...), paint, and decals to make my bike look the way I wanted it to. When I finished with Duplicolor Clear, I had my doubts; which were sadly realized the first time I dripped gas on my tank - the clear instantly became sticky and cloudy...thus ruining my finish. I researched online for a LONG time to find a viable product in rattlecan (as I do not have access to a paint sprayer or paint booth), finally settling on this one; others review this product in a very positive light, especially when used on motorcycles. This product appears to be MUCH more durable. It gives a smooth beautiful gloss that instantly makes you feel more confident about the protection it offers. I am very happy with this product so far. I'm going to apply a second coat for depth, will really test this product this summer. Will update with any adverse/positive results as I see them.

I picked this up because I wanted a high quality clearcoat I could apply on a backyard auto parts painting project. I painted a grill and two headlight bezels and wanted to make sure I had as much protection as I could from rock chips, etc. This can was good for a couple of light coats followed by a thicker final coat. Don't expect to paint a car with one can by any means. It might be enough for a hood or roof but not much more.

First off, this product contains isocyanates, it says so on the can. Bare minimum use a good face mask with organic vapor cartridges. I used a 3M mask and rubber gloves and sprayed it in the middle of my back yard in a light breeze and had no issues, but was sure to stay upwind while spraying it. Isocyanates are NOT something you want to mess with, especially in your lungs. Keep your kids and pets away! Wear a body suit if you have one available, especially in an enclosed space.

Make sure you shake the can for 2 minutes like it says on the can, then flip it completely upside down and press straight down with the red button and hold it for a bit to make sure it empties completely. Then shake again for at least 2 minutes. I applied it on an 80-85F day in low humidity, and it appeared to come out in a fine mist. It did start sputtering as the can got low. The can also doesn't handle angles well, so keep the can as straight up and down as possible.

I let it sit in the sun for 3 hours and by then it was no longer tacky to the touch and I was able to install the pieces (it was a rush job). It was obviously still soft (screws bit into it easily) but hard enough to handle.

The resulting job looks great, it's very shiny and smooth. Sadly the rest of the truck now looks worse because it's not nearly as shiny. Oh well.

Hopefully it's durable, time will tell.

I used Spray Max 2K as the final coat to seal the decals and provide a glossy finish to my 1982 Zullo Criterium racing bike. Coverage was amazing and the nozzle does indeed put down a spray gun-like pattern. The clear flowed beautifully which was actually a pleasure to watch as it happened. Care must be taken though to use light coats to prevent runs, but even those could be cleaned up with some proper sanding and color sanding. As an enthusiast bicycle restorer, I will continue to to use this product!

They Spray Max for a reason. You spray it on, you get max Gloss Clear coat. Wear a respirator or mask or a hipster bandanna over your pie-hole, these stuff is legit and by legit I mean it will make you feel like you did 63 whip-its in a sleeping bag. Use proper safety precautions, it only makes sense. Clearcoat!

I purchased this product to use as a final clear coat on my motorcycle gas tank. Product sprays very well and is easy to use. Minor wet sanding was needed. Hopefully it will protect the paint in the event fuel spills on it.

This is an excellent product with a beautiful finish. Beware though, once mixed together it's only good for 48 hours.

Used this to repair motorcycle fairings. I've worked at auto body shop since I was 15yrs old and still know people in the biz. I have to say, this is a great solution (not substitute!) for DIY folks who want a reliable clearcoat but do not want the hassle or price paid for getting an auto body shop to clear for you. I did my prior research on this and other suitable aerosol clear coats and none matched the quality of this product. If you don't know the main contributing factor for this clear versus the other off-the-shelf clearcoats that you can get at an auto store or hardware store, this is a 2 part (2k) clearcoat, which means 1 part clearcoat solvent and 1 part hardener. The hardener is within the aerosol can and requires activation prior to use. Additionally, as the can recommends, this is for professional use. While not a professional by any means, I do have experience painting so that does help as far as prepping and application goes. Don't expect flawless results by just popping open the can and clearing on anything you see - SORRY but it doesn't work that way! Patience is key, not just with this product but with painting in general if you want a good finish.

Let me go with this as the first part as I know most people will overlook this aspect (myself included). SAFETY! This isn't your run of the mill rattle can from autozone or home depot and even if it was, you shouldn't be using aerosol spraycans, especially Spraymax 2k in your garage/basement/bedroom unless it is set up properly for ventilation. Wear a respirator!

To activate the hardener, shake vigorously for about 2min, remove the attached red button press, turn the can upside down and place the red button on the activator switch (totally made up the name for that part).
