Joshua Slocum created the Spray and birthed a cruising legend with his solo circumnavigation chronicled in his Sailing Alone Around the World.

Spray, as a cruising design, has been dissected by Ken Slack in his 1966 book - In The Wake of the Spray.

R Bruce Roberts-Goodson has built on Slack's work with his title of Spray, The Ultimate Cruising Boat. In doing this he re-caps the story already built and introduces newer information on versions of the Spray.

As a designer he works through a variety of Spray designs he has penned for clients and develops the story of these. This is indeed a tribute to a true blue water cruiser and makes no apologies to modern cruising yacht design.

This is a well researched and enjoyable read adding to the Spray legend and is a worthy addition to the addicts book shelf.
