Pretty Good.,

All in all, this was a pretty good read. The art seems to change halfway through the book, so it's kinda hard to tell who's who. Also, I wanted the cover with the nurse on it and got a different one, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. Besides one petty complaint, that's about all. Besides that, it was pretty good. NOTE: these events seem to take place after the Dead Space books, so you might want to pick those up first.

Darkness rises!,

In this glimpse into Steve Niles's 30 Days of Night continuum, our protagonist, Agent Michael Henson, has penetrated the mysteries of the secret vampire cabal and has gathered enough solid evidence to expose their shadowy existence to an unsuspecting world. But clandestine forces in our government thwart him at every turn. Now, with his research stolen and his every move watched, can Agent Henson solve the riddle, "why would somebody want to put a vampire in space" (the storyline from the last book- 30 Days of Night: Dead Space), while keeping his veins un-punctured?Writer Dan Wickline and artists Tony Sandoval and Alex Sanchez out-do themselves in creating a 128 page crimson-stained nightmare. This book is a must have for monster comic book fans who have enjoyed Dick Briefer's horrificThe Monster of Frankenstein, The Walking Dead, Vol. 6: This Sorrowful Life and the gore-filled Zombie Factory.

interesting with a snicker. Shows religious revival bigwigs in a *whole* newlight (hypocrisy). (Didn't Anne Rice write something about Christ in this respect several yrs. ago ["this is my flesh and this is my blood" - or what- ever the Catholic rite words are supposed to be...] before the angel series books that aren't done yet - I know of them because I have a subscription to Locus, and see the quarterly issue book listings.) Anyway, I think she meant to show the vampiric angle of Christ and the Church - before she "got religion". (You'll note I'm saying this sarcastically.)

Good story, but needs to get facts straight,
By Martin P. Eckert "PaulE" (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews

Spreading the Disease is the first "30 Days" book I've read. Even though I didn't know the story from the beginning, I felt it easy to jump right into the story. The graphics are amazing, the story is interesting in terms of plot (vampires spreading their 'disease' through clever ways, eventually leading to a plan to infect people at a Super Bowl game) and setting (southern states such as Texas, Alabama, and Florida). The only beef that I have with those involved on this book is that they change facts about cities in Texas simply to fit their plot. The story leads up to the vampires trying to infect people at what the narrative describes as "a Pro Football Championship Game" (Why couldn't they call it what it is: THE SUPER BOWL! Do they really know that little about football?) in Arlington, Texas. Arlington is where the Dallas Cowboys play, at Texas Stadium. However, the stadium depicted in the book was Reliant Stadium, which is in Houston, Texas and is where the Houston Texans play. The plot involves the people having to open up the retractable roof on the stadium. Maybe the authors realized that Texas Stadium doesn't have a retractable roof, so they just decided to use the other football stadium in Texas, Reliant Stadium. But the fact that they so haphazardly substitute the two is a bit offensive to me, as if readers are too stupid to know the difference. Why not just place the story in Houston if you need a stadium with a retractable roof? I live in Texas, so it bothers me more than it would most people. I was actually very happy to see that they placed the story in Texas. But it would be the same as saying the Golden Gate Bridge is in New York. It's just ridiculous. Don't let this keep you from reading the story, but hopefully the authors will be more careful in the future to understand a city before placing a story there.

overall a decent story,
This review is from: Spreading The Disease (30 Days of Night, Book 6) (Paperback)
i wont spoil the story by giving away too much. this graphic novel is about vampired who are trying to devise a way to spread thier deadly disease. the charecters in this one are new to the 30 days series. the story is well written and as usual the art work is of superior quality. steve niles does a good job in developing the charecters without drawing out the story. id say.. buy it if your collection consists of a few steve niles books!
