3.0 out of 5 stars UVa Intro to engineer Lab February 24, 2014
By Carl W.
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Needed this book for the lab in the title. Used a few pages, and it contained some of the assignments. If you're reading this, and are taking that class, you can buy it if you like. Or you can find a friend that has it and borrow it for a few minutes every week to write down the problems you have to do and save some coin.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why the hell did I need to buy this? September 19, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
All of the information in this book can be obtained by a few Google searches. The ONLY reason I bought this book was because I needed to do one of the problems in the book. This book isn't even useful anymore; there's a new version of Office out. I'm sure the only reason I had to do that one problem was because the publishers "donated" to the University.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very concise April 12, 2014
The book is okay, but the problem I have with it is that it just blabs on and on and on about concepts when really it should take much less to explain. Concepts that could be explain in 3-4 pages are explained in around 10-12 pages. This book is around 500 pages, but I feel as if it could have been written equally well in maybe as little as 100-200 pages.

Pros: Does decent job explaining the program and its features
Cons: Not concise

3.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't reccommend October 12, 2013
By Harmony
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I did not use this book much, it is rather out dated and hard to follow at times. I hoped it would teach me a new trick or two, but no. I would not recommend it, it'd be easier to Google what ever you're trying to learn.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spreadsheet Tools for Engineers Using Excel 2007 March 2, 2014
By Dawn
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I like this book but needs to be updated to match the current 2010 Excel version. The way it is written is not totally clear to understand.
