Great book; not very sturdy,
This review is from: Spring Board Book (Board book)
I love the book, and so does my 18-month-old daughter. I just wish the construction were more like a regular board book, and not like it's made out of art-project cardboard, and then I'd order the rest of the series. Very odd, and not very sturdy, although we've had it for six months now, and it's held up. It just looks/feels cheap.

Bought all four seasons books. They are beautiful! Love the illustrations. My 19m old son couldn't put them down. The board used is not as heavy as most board books, and all four books are slightly warped, however this is not a big issue for me. Just curious as to whether others have had the same experience.

My son is being raised trilingual (my husband and I speak different native languages, in addition to English). One of my biggest problems was reading books to my son - most books that he has are in English. I often would have to switch languages on him, when he'd bring me a book to read. These books, however, have no text, and the situations that they describe are universal - hence, perfect for multilingual kids. I can talk about the scenes in whatever language I am talking to the child at the time, and am also able to present the same set of words in different languages.
The pictures are very detailed and realistic. There's also a nice progression in each season depicted. For e.g, spring starts with a girl playing with a lamb in a meadow, and then on to planting flowers, arranging tulips, family time indoors and outdoors, Easter preparations, etc.

I can't recomend these Seasons books enough! They're just beautiful and they capture the attention of all ages. We got these for my son's second birthday and they are still some of his absolute favorites.

I can't say enough about these books! Simple, beautiful depiction of each season - my 2 year old son notices something new each time in the enchanting illustrations. (I especially like the page with the child bedridden with the flu, homeopathic remedies on her nightstand. That's what early spring looks like at our house!) We're reminded what a gift it is enjoy life's simple pleasures and nature's playground (and all without words). I own all 4 books now, each bought at the beginning of it's corresponding season. Even my 7 year old looked forward to each one. Of course, perfect for Waldorf families, but I think they would be enjoyed by any family with young children - such a lovely gift.

I bought all four books and really love them. There are endless talking possibilities in these books that have no words. It fires up a childs imagination which is all important.

I looked long and hard for some books for my toddler that would have pictures realistic and interesting enough to hold his attention and let him learn about his world, yet wouldn't drive me nuts with boring, overly cutesy pictures or leave me trying to read text that my son doesn't care about. I finally found and ordered this series and they are exactly what I wanted. My 18 month old doesn't get tired of them, and neither do I, hooray!
