A lovely book!,

This is a fun and beautiful book. A perfect way to welcome spring and have fun counting, too! Pamela Jane's rhymes are perfect--original and fun. And Melissa Sweet's illustrations capture the spirit of Jane's writing and of spring in the country. I am buying this as a new baby gift, as well as a gift for a toddler I know. This is a sturdy pop-up book, one that I think will withstand hundreds of readings.

Bright and Springy Pop-Up,

Attractive to pop-up lovers and young counters alike, this book will brighten your day. Children will love the friendly images and ticklish words while they learn to count with the details of a farm spring. The lush, lively paintings and adept poetry will engage older read-aloud partners as they go through this one over and over again.

Adorable counting book, just right for little ones. Illustrations are engaging and compliment the easy rhyming text. Young listeners will enjoy counting and chiming along. Delightful!

Yes this book is cute.
My daughter is not 3 yet and this spring season I decided to find some new books for her that talk about spring as well involve something for Easter ( bunnies ;-). The big thing that bothered me is that one of the pop up scenes involves spiders. They are small and smile but it talks about ( I forgot which number it is now, 5 or 6 ) spiders under my front porch. YOu open the pop up ( which looks like the front porch of the house ) and there are spiders. Smiling but they look like spiders. Not like Mrs. Spider... like SPIDERS. That is a let down and one reason I CAN'T read this book to my little girl at this point. She has entered the phase of monsters, and so on and already her vivid imagination makes her think dragon flies are in the house. Don't ask me how she got that idea. I am really careful with what she reads and sees. SO, $8 dollars spend on a book I have to hold back till whenever later. Other then that the reviews of the previous readeres pretty much tell it as it is. I find it nice and I am sure it would be a cute little book to read, if we could read it in our home. Honestly you can find some really colorful and fun counting books. THsi book is not really that. |
