I bought this for my daughter yesterday because I was a strawberry shortcake fanatic as a little girl (and I am collecting the old ones again) But I wanted to start a collection of the new ones for my daughter. Strawberry shortcake smells exactly like the old one! She is adorable. My little girl (21 mo.) loves her. The only thing about the new ones is that they are more realistic rather than more fantasylike as the old ones were. I just think the older ones clothing and hair made it more of a fantasy and the way the new ones are, they look like real little girls just dressed in regular clothes. I hope they will release some more characters and give them purple, blue and pink hair. And I liked the striped tights on the old ones.

I think this is a must have collection. It reminds me of the 80's. I just wish BANDAI would make them all. They should even do the retro Strawberry Shortcake all over again. All 5.5" dolls with the Strawberry House.

i love this toy and it smells great however i think the toy is pretty exspensive and limited play can be offered by only one doll my mum bought me the first one and she doesnt come with much so i had to buy 2

Strawberry Shortcake is very cute in this updated version of her. She still smells as sweet as I remember her as a child. Her clothes seem to be poor quality and her shoes just will not stay on her feet. Other than that my daughters still love her and they love the Pupcake dog, too.

I really do like these new dolls coming out. I have some older ones, but I am collecting the newer ones as well. I looked at both dolls, older and newer, and I think the newer ones are cuter. The smell wasn't as strong as the older dolls, but the clothes and looks definitly make up for the loss of scent. I think it is nice for people to be able to collect these new dolls- besides, the price to collect the original Strawberry Shortcake collection is completely ridiculous. Give them a try, they will grow on you!
