5.0 out of 5 stars Totally awesome toy!
We got the Super Z Funride because I had a similar thing growing up 30+ years ago, only we called it "the monorail." It is every bit as fun as I remembered! 1.0 out of 5 stars Poor/Cheap quality - the plastic parts didn't last 5 months!
This zipline has one major weakness - the plastic trolley will melt down within 5 months. You can get a more durable one for about the same price elsewhere. Don't buy this one.

Also, the seller Extextoys will have you call the manufacturer "Spring Swings" 1-800-893-4373 who will say that you are not using the zipline properly and blame you for the worn out...

We got the Super Z Funride because I had a similar thing growing up 30+ years ago, only we called it "the monorail." It is every bit as fun as I remembered! It does take some strength to get the cable taut enough (we got the 90' model), but aside from that the installation went according to the directions and without trouble. We used a couple of lengths of slit hose to protect the tree bark from the cable, and screwed in a bolt 1" underneath the back of the cable to ensure that it wouldn't slip down. HOWEVER, the bolt does not seem necessary now that we've been using the Funride for a month. The cable stays put, as it should. We added a very fat, soft knotted rope (impossible to tangle or get caught in) with a big Jolly Ball at the end to sit on, so you don't have to hang like a monkey from the trolley AND it's easier to catch and tow back to the top. ONE IDEA: we found that we were hitting the end pretty forcefully, which could hasten the demise of the plastic trolley, but we didn't want to suck all the fun out if it by slowing the ride down too much. So, we slit and duct-taped a tennis ball around the landing end of the cable and blocked it from slipping with a cable clamp behind it. That does a nice job of softening the landing. Our 7 year old and his friends think it is super, super cool -- they play Indiana Jones and Commando and whoop it up every free second of the afternoon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lot's of fun for little kids and big 'kids', May 22, 2007

We've had the Super Z deluxe zip line in our backyard for almost a year now. I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old that use it quite often. I installed the zip line as directed, but also added a swing seat to the trolley so that the kids can ride in the swing instead of having to hang onto the trolley, which would've made it incompatible with their young age.
I've ridden the zip line countless times with my littlest one in my lap, as well as riding solo on the trolley myself. My run is only about 65 feet, but I like the fact that the unit is rated to 250 lbs!
As expected, it gets quite a bit of action when the kids have friends over. All in all, everything I expected.
Assembly went fairly quickly, but, as others, I had to increase the 'drop' so that we got a good ride. Tensioning the line wasn't a problem for me, though it did take some time to complete that procedure.

See it in action. This is the 94 foot line with a Daisy Disk Seat for my five year old to use. Actually, the older kids like the seat too, as it easier on their hands than holding on to the hand grips.

I got this for my daughters (16, 15, and 11) and they love it. I have the long model (90 feet) and it stretches almost all the way across the back yard. Even the 16 year old goes on it when her friends come over. They seem to really like riding in the dark.
Installation worked well for me, but I already had a platform (a tree house project in the making) for the start and a perfectly placed tree at the other end. When it comes time to make the final connection, you'll need a couple of people to pull hard on the cable to be able to get it taut...

5.0 out of 5 stars Zip line really zips!, February 8, 2009

This review is from: Spring Swings Super Z Fun Ride (Toy)
After a significant amount of research, I purchased this product for my 10 and 6 year olds. My husband installed it from their tree house (12 ft in the tree) across our yard to the swing set (about 70 feet). The instructions are not as clear as they could be, with important details being a little buried. However, my husband and I are engineers, and so we recognize the importance of paying attention to these details. You want to be sure to read these instructions VERY carefully before installing. We made a brake for the zip line using an idea I collected online: a wooden block clamped to the line held by two, 6 ft long bungee cords staked into the ground. My 6 year old cannot touch the ground at the finishing end of the zipline, so this brake was a welcome relief for the "mommy brake" (I would catch him before he hit the tree). The brake works like a charm. The boys love this zipline!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice zip line, September 8, 2008

Set this up in our backyard for my 8yo daughter, she loves it. Was pretty easy to set up, just be careful not to strip the threads on the turn buckles. Might be good to spray the threads with lithium grease prior to putting this up outdoors.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun but poor quality, February 14, 2011
This review is from: Spring Swings Super Z Fun Ride (Toy)
Received this a a gift for my 6 and 10 y.o. They use it frequently. I built a platform for safe launches. Capacity says 250lbs, so I tried it (Dad, 200lbs) and one of the metal turnbuckle stripped it's threads, landing me on my kiester. I bought a better capacity unit at hardware store. Note for Dads to stay off.

After about a year, the cable chewed through one of the pulleys. I'm trying to source a new one. The kids like it, but the hardware should be better quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zip Rider - Fun, but be very careful in assembly and training, December 30, 2007

We installed this from my grandson's treehouse to a nearby tree near the ground. Depending on age and height, I'd recommend getting the optional safety harness. He loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alot of fun! height must be adjusted for smallest child, February 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Spring Swings Super Z Fun Ride (Toy)
The kids love this! A couple of tips. install the cable almost level with not too much slope. The weight of the rider will pull the cable down lower as they ride through the middle and the upward slope at end of ride will slow them down. This is the proper installation otherwise you slam the dolly into the cable clamps at the end of the ride.
If your children are different heights you may need to make it quite low (we did not want our 5 year old to fall from too high.) this makes it difficult for adult riders because the weight pulls them down even further and cannot hold legs up high enough. Also, we piled a mountain of mulch at the end so the small kids could reach it with their feet and also have a soft landing if they fell.
