5.0 out of 5 stars I take these daily, January 11, 2012
This review is from: Spring Valley - Calcium 600 mg with Vitamin D , Twin Pack, 500 Tablets
I've taken these daily for quite some time, and my doctor tells me that my D and Calcium levels are outstanding, and that they're better than most people my age (28). I guess you can't complain about good results! He told me whatever I'm doing, to keep it up. Well, I don't drink milk or take in most dairy, so it must be this!

3.0 out of 5 stars Elemental Calcium levels??, May 6, 2010
This review is from: Spring Valley - Calcium 600 mg with Vitamin D , Twin Pack, 500 Tablets
Has anyone else checked on the levels of "elemental" calcium in these supplements?

The amount of "elemental" calcium in calcium carbonate is typically 40%. The label on this product says there is 600mg of calcium carbonate in each tablet. The label doesn't state it as "elemental" calcium. But a call to Spring Valley customer service says the 600mg is the "elemental" level.

I'm skeptical. Why doesn't the label state it as elemental, since that's the important number when calculating daily calcium needs. To get 600mg of elemental calcium, each tablet would have to have 1500mg of calcium carbonate. And maybe that's the case. Just wondering why a company marketing a product to people counting daily "elemental" calcium levels wouldn't use that critical word on the label...
