I use this for acne and it is working! I wish I knew this sooner. I have no insurance so this is a great cheap alternative. It came in a week so no complaints.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Flush! August 31, 2013

I take niacin, 500 mg daily, as my doctor has instructed me to.

I found the side effects of regular niacin to be almost unbearable.
If you have ever taken niacin, then you are familiar with the "niacin flush".
If not, then you are in for a big surprise the first time you take regular niacin!
Even time released niacin causes me to "flush".
This product (Inositol Hexanicotinate) does not give me the flush that I normally experience.
After having used this for over a year now, I will never go back to regular niacin.

I am not loyal to one brand over another.
I have used other brands and found them to be equally effective.

As always, I hope that you found my review to be helpful and I thank you for reading it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doctor said timed release Niacin is very dangerous September 18, 2010
My physician told me to stop taking this immediately. He said that in medical school they learned that "timed release" Niacin causes liver damage and not to take it. I stopped taking it because my liver is already compromised from fatty liver, etc.

He said regular, non timed release was fine to take.

As an update, he told me a couple weeks ago to take 1200 mgs. fish oil for high cholestral instead. I bought the enterek coated tablets & that is a huge improvement. I had to stop taking the non-coated ones as they gave me a really sour stomache and I was burping up sour fish taste. No problems at all with the coated version Kirkland brand.
