Springfield's 91655 Wireless Thermometer with Indoor Humidity Meter and Clock allows you to monitor the temperature and humidity indoors and temperature outdoors. It offers the time and day of the week. This model also features an LCD display, a countdown timer, it has three remote sensor channels and has a jack for the optional detachable ten foot cable with sensor probe that is waterproof for use in pools, spas, soil or freezers. If you are keeping track, this thermometer features a high/low memory recall as well as a programmable temperature alert that you can set at the temperature you wish. This is great to prevent outdoor plants from freezing. One remote sensor with a transmission range up to 100 feet is included and you can add up to 2 additional 91465-SF remote sensors that are sold separately. The outdoor unit is to -40 degrees F when using lithium ion batteries.

Not perfect, but not bad for the price,

I purchased mine locally for $15. Since I don't have a super-accurate thermometer near it to verify the readings, I can't tell how perfectly accurate it is, but comparing it to nearby local weather stations I see on wunderground, it's in the neighborhood. It appears to want to be a little on the high side.
It also seems to take its time adjusting to the exact temperature. I installed it a few days ago, and when I took the remote unit outside, it took a few hours before the displayed temperature got down to the actual 55 degrees outside. My list of minor annoyances: The outdoor sensor is NOT waterproof. You have to locate it where it will be protected from any rain. The temperature range is odd: -4F -158F. Here in Boston, the temperature drops below -4F almost every winter at some point. Knowing exactly how low it got would be handy. But 158F?? Does Death Valley ever get that high? The indoor display unit doesn't have anything on the back to allow you to hang it on the wall. It only has this flimsy fold-out stand that I broke within the first hour. I think that if the outdoor temperature doesn't change for a certain amount of time, the reading goes blank " -- -- ". The humidity reading is indoors only. Outdoors would have been more helpful.

I consider this my poor judgement and decided not to simply return the unit. It is simply too small making the information very difficult to read. The supplier did furnish info size; I simply ignored the info, however I would like to advise anyone considering to order to take into account its size - it is "handheld size".
