Springfield Precision Instruments 14" Metal Garden Thermometer with Clock and Hygrometer

This is a very attractive thermometer/hygrometer/clock. The only problem (and it's a major one) is that it is rarely accurate in terms of temperature. I have it mounted in the shade as suggested but nevertheless, during the day it usually reads about 10 degrees hotter than it actually is during the summer. It is closer to accurate when the sun is down, but still not right. I'll be curious to see if it is more accurate in winter. Also, the hygrometer seems to be accurate most of the time, but on a few occasions it has read zero humidity on fairly humid days.

I find it humorous that the manufacturer has the word "precision" in their name.

I was a little concerned given that some people seem to have had problems with this item, but ours arrived in perfect condition and all functions work perfectly. We hung ours under the overhang of our back porch so it's not in direct sunlight, and it seems to be very happy there.

Construction and appearance is good for the price. It's a little hard to read -- especially the smaller dials -- from more than 10ft. away but ours is at about twice that distance and we can still tell what the temperature is, which is what we're really looking for. Anyway, ours works great, gives us lots of useful information, and looks good doing it without costing a bundle. Exactly what we were looking for.

I have purchased other Springfield clocks and whether indoor or outdoor, they always keep great time and temp. This one was a gift for a family member and they were surprised because they didn't think that anyone made outdoor clocks that were simple and metal. They really like it too!

The garden thermometer is nice but the clock stopped keeping time within a week. The batteries were replaced so that wasn't the issue. I contacted the vendor who sold it but they didn't reply. If you just want a thermometer, it is great but as I was wanted the clock too, I'm not impressed with the product or the vendor's Customer Service.

We wanted an attractive outdoor thermometer with humidity guage, and it is beautiful, even comes with a clock. Delivery was prompt! The issue we have is that mounted on our outside wall (cement), the thermometer usually reads about 5 degrees lower than the air for long periods of time because the cement wall remains cool even as the air around is warming up. Other times of day the air and temp of cement catch up with each other and the reading becomes accurate. We decided we're not going to return it because it does look good... We'll learn to adjust our interpretation of the reading.

I am very pleased with all functions of my outdoor thermometer. All functions are very accurate. I would recommend this unit to anyone who needs a outdoor thermometer.

This was a gift to my sister. She was very pleased with this Thermometer and Hygrometer, they're accurate and can been easily seen from inside her home. This fits the bill for any gardener or herbologist on your gift list.

Very nice looking and keeps accurate temp, time and humidity readings. Exactly what we needed on our screen porch!

This outdoor thermometer with hygrometer and clock is just what I expected. It's rustic finish goes perfectly on the brick siding outside our patio door. A great addition to any home!

I like it. It looks good and works effectively.
I really wanted a larger one to put in the peak of the
garage, but wasnt able to locate one. This one's
too small for that, but a good product for the price.
