5.0 out of 5 stars One of my FAVORITE books of all time, February 21, 2005

This book moved me. I love the words as well as the illustrations. I bought this book to give to my niece, but when I got home and read it I had to get another copy for myself. So, I went back to the store and bought 3 more, and have given them as gifts. I like to read it when I feel down or when I am contemplating things. It is a children's book with lots of adult wisdom. I definitely recommend it to everyone of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Voices of beauty from the past, October 21, 2004

My 4 year old picked this book off the shelf at the library. I didn't realize, until I sat down to read it to her at home, that the quotations are beyond her comprehension. She loved the book anyway, for its charming illustrations of children, nature, and simple pleasures.
Mixed with familar verses are poems from forgotten out-of-print writers, about the things in life that are eternal and will always bring delight and happiness. It's a winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful book that touches your soul, September 7, 2004

I picked up this book and felt its magic immediately. Illustrations that touched me, that felt they were drawn just for me and the places I love and things I love to do... and poems and quotes of real beauty and meaning.
A rare TREASURE!! A keeper. I should get two. I can actually picture some of my favorite places when I look at Tasha Tudor's illustrations. Maybe I will take pictures of those places, and place each photograph into the page that reminds me of it. And of course my own dogs, not corgies, but just as beloved.
