I read a lot of poetry... and I read a lot of mediocre poetry. But this collection of work surprised me with its sensitive use of language, its striking imagery, and its wit. While I hadn't heard of the author until picking up this small volume, I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more by her.

This book is a great addition to my collection of poetry. The author speaks right to my way of thinking. Some of the poems are funny some are serious. There is something for everyone in this book. It would make a great gift for anyone who reads or writes poetry. I highly recommend it! A+

Gross' first poetry collection is remarkably well done. I picked up a copy over the weekend and couldn't put it down. While most of the poems follow the central coming-of-age theme, there is a lot of variation in style, voice, and content. Poems such as America(Parallelism) are clever and show Gross' sense of humor. I'd reccomend this collection to anyone who thinks there's no new poetry under the sun. Keep an eye on this young writer.
