"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."--John 16:24About the Author:Charles H. Spurgeon became so popular that his published Sunday sermons were literally sold by the ton. He continually appealed to his audiences to allow the Lord to minister to them individually. Highlighted with splashes of spontaneous, delightful humor, his teachings still provide direction to all who are seeking true joy and genuine intimacy with God.*******Prayer brings big answers [headline]Prayer is the Christian's lifeline to God, and with it lives are changed for eternity! 5.0 out of 5 stars Spurgeon is a Must Read for everyone, September 3, 2005
This review is from: Spurgeon on Prayer & Spiritual Warfare (Paperback)
This is the first time I have ever read Spurgeon. He is the best writer I have ever read, period. Even if this is altered somewhat by Whitaker, get it. You will not be disappointed at all. Comforting, Life altering, engrossing. If you have ever gone through trials and been angry at God, this man will open your eyes to the JOY of going through trials - Absolute Joy. I will never be the same again. I am in awe of Spurgeon's wisdom and beautiful - BEAUTIFUL writing. Reading his work is like looking at a glorious painting. I cannot write a review to do him justice. If I could only write like Spurgeon...

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read By the "Prince of Preachers", August 17, 2004
This review is from: Spurgeon on Prayer & Spiritual Warfare (Paperback)
"Spurgeon On Prayer and Spiritual Warfare" is a compilation of writings on the topic of prayer by a man known in his day as the "Prince of Preachers".

Among the important points covered include:

1. While others disappoint us, we can find divine assurance in God's sweet promises.
2. Through Jesus, we can approach God with unstaggering faith.
3. Acknowledge your dependence on God. When you are weak, you are strong. Before God can use us, He has to break us.
4. God is willing and able to bless us beyond what we ask!
5. God prefers the humble heart to pomp and show.
6. Apart from Jesus, we have no hope.
7. Excellent notes on how the devil attacks us. Be careful of idleness, for that is when the evil one can do much damage.
8. The devil loves to hinder Christian communion.

While I enjoyed reading some of his actual prayers (consists of about 20% of the book), I would have preferred reading more of his thoughts on prayer and how prayer can be unleased for God's glory. Neverless, I was greatly encouraged by the read.

Read, enjoy, and be blessed! Highly recommended.

This review is from: Spurgeon on Prayer & Spiritual Warfare (Paperback)
This book is a must read if you are serving our Lord so much that you are a threat to Satan and you are being attacked by satan, Spurgeon explains what you're going through so much that is seems like he is right there with you. THis book has helped me through many battles with our enemy and helped me to understand how to battle satan and his crew. The Lord has blessed CHarles Spurgeon tremendously and he is passing it on to us in this wonderful book.
