Excellent aid for devotional reading, February 26, 2010
This review is from: Spurgeon's Devotional Bible Pb (Paperback)
This book encourages regular systematic Bible reading with helpful explanations. Psalms and epistles are weaved into the OT chapters where these are in context with the daily reading. The book may be read in one year or two depending whether you choose to read morning and evening or once a day. Even when this book is used year after year, there are always fresh things to learn. - although this is not surprising since it is God's Word.

Content great; printing small, January 23, 2012
This review is from: Spurgeon's Devotional Bible Pb (Paperback)
This is 5 star, as is all Spurgeon, for the content. With few exceptions morning of each day is one page and evening of each day one page. A few examples of the texts:
January 1 morning - Gen. 1:1-5; John 1.1-14
evening - Gen. 1.6-13; Prov. 8:22-36
January 2 morning - Gen. 1:14-23; Ps. 148
evening - Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 2:7-35
January 3 morning - Ps. 8
evening - Gen. 2:1-3; Mk. 2:23-28; Lk. 14:1-5
December 28 morning - Rev. 7
evening - Rev. 14:6-20
December 29 morning - Rev. 17:3-18
evening - Rev. 18:4, 5, 8-13, 15-21, 24
December 30 morning - Rev. 19
evening - Rev. 20
December 31 morning - Rev. 21:1-12, 14-16, 18-23, 25-27
evening - Rev. 22; Ps. 119:129-136, 145-152, 169-176
It switches at August 12 to major on New Testament passages. Before that the Old Testament is overwhelmingly predominant.
The print on this is small. Though I can read it without magnifying reading glasses, it isn't comfortable. (I no longer can read compact Bibles comfortably either.) So, if compact Bible text is a snap for you, no worries.
