5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully exciting book!
I read this book to my son who is 8-1/2. He likes spy stories, movies and the like. This was a great book, easy enough for him to follow, funny, and very engaging. He always asked to read one more chapter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Spy X The code
I thought this book was going to be like a short story of once upon a time, but it was about how their mom left and what they are doing to find her. Go Eve and Andrew!

We read it fairly slowly because I work full time and also have a bouncy two-year old. He could have read it himself but I was enjoying it so much that I wanted to read it with him.

We are definately looking forward to book #2 and eagerly awaiting the publish dates of #3 and #4. Go Evie & Andrew!

This book made us think and gave us things to wonder about after we had stopped reading for the evening. "What do you think will happen next?" Definately read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, November 7, 2004

This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
I ordered this book because it looked interesting to me and seemed to be a good book for my 9 year old son who hates to read. He picked it to read for a book report, so we read it together. What an awesome book! For the first time I saw his interest in reading kindled and he was beginning to understand my facination with reading! I just ordered the other book and pre-ordered the two that are not out yet! I can't wait to get the books to finish reading about Andrew and Evie with my son.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun new adventure series for kids., January 4, 2005
This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
Twins Andrew and Evie Wall haven't seen their mom in almost a year -- they woke up on last November 11th, their eleventh birthday, to find a note from her saying that she had to go into hiding. They expected her to return -- after all, she's a spy, and spies have to disappear sometimes -- but she never did. Now Andrew, Evie, and their dad have started a new life in a small town in Connecticut. But just as they are getting settled in, their life is disrupted again by the arrival of a mysterious package sent to them by their mom. Now the twins must decode the contents of the package and find out what their mom is trying to tell them before it's too late.

This is the first book in a fun new series by Peter Lerangis, author of the Watchers series, which I enjoyed reading when it first came out. Kids who enjoy adventure, mystery, and spy stories are sure to like this book, and will enjoy trying to solve the puzzles Andrew and Evie encounter. The next two books in this series are good as well, and readers will want to read them right away due to the cliffhanger ending of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read for kids and parents., December 9, 2004

This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
My 10 year old son picked this book out at the Scholastic book fair at school. We read the book together and could not put it down. Every night he would say, just one more chapter! I don't get into mysteries but this was really well written and even got me into it. My son loved it and immediately started asking for the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chun,Matthew - Spy X, March 26, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
For 12-year-old kids Andrew and Evie moving is a way of life. Their dad in the military and their mom is always gone for her work at a business. They don't know where their mom works and she will never tell them. Most of the time she is never home, but at work. Then one day they move to a new house again and meet their knew neighbor. Mrs. Digitalis. They find out that Mrs. Digitalis knows more about there mom then them, and works for the same company as their mom. They learn more about their mom from her and a few days later they receive a package from an address and find a few normal objects in the box. Then they realize that the stuff in the box were not ordinary but spy tools. They learn things from Mrs. Digitalis and crack some codes to find out where their mom is. In the end they end up moving once again.
I liked this book because it had real codes in it and they weren't easy codes to figure out. Clues lead to more clues that led to more clues that led to the answers in witch you have to use your brain to crack. It also has many cliffhangers so if you read 1 chapter you always want to read another chapter. I also liked this book because it is a mystery book and I usually like mystery books.
My favorite part in the book is when they get the key that opens anything. They get a box full of regular things. Or though they thought but, they realize that everything in the box isn't what it seams and that a key in the box can open any door! Imagine if you had that key you could open anything in the world that had a lock. All the locks would be useless if a bully stole anything you could get it back if it had a key hole!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great spy novel for kids!, July 12, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
I bought this book for my 8-year-old daughter. I started reading it aloud to her and got into it myself. It may be a bit too advanced for her, but I really enjoyed it and finished it on my own. There is fun code breaking, chase scenes and spying by two witty kids. It's a believable plot. I'd guess that an 11-year-old would love it - boy or girl!

Best book I've ever read. I couldn't stop reading. Very easy to follow. Very intense. I liked decoding the messages myself. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventurous and fun for all!, February 27, 2005
This review is from: The Code (Spy X #1) (Paperback)
If you are seeking adventure and fun in a great new book series, than Spy X: The code is the book for you. Andrew and Evie are twins and on their eleventh birthday their mother disappears leaving only a note. They move to a new town and immediately begin encountering unusual situations. Soon they find out from a quirky retired neighbor that things are not always as they seem and the note from their mom is not just a note.
You'll love Evie's wit and Andrew's imagination as you begin decoding notes and uncovering clues in this new adventure. Spy x: The Code is a great book for boys, girls and parents who enjoy a little humor and suspense. The chapters are short and keep you on the edge of your seat. I only wish I had bought the other two books in the series, so I could have kept on reading. The author Lerangis is really on to something here.

11,11,11!Andrew and his sister Evie lost their mom at age 11. She had gone on a business trip and never returned. Their father worked in the military so they are always moving. They just movedto a new town. They get t othe new town and every thing is going wrong there is a bulley at their new school named Bualko who takes Andrews bike and breaks it later on. Their next door nabor is so suspicious and they make her mad right at the begianing. They get a pakage from their uncle that contains all kinds of cool stuff. They find out later that the box of stuff was a code or message. The twins are having to juggle school , bualko the bulley at school and finding out what all the messages and what they mean with out their dad knowing about it.
The two twins Andrew and Evie are hard working kids that are always having problems. They also are gool at hiding all of the decodig of messages from their dad. I highly recommend Spy X the code to everyone reading this.
