From the Inside Flap
The last time Annie saw Sam, they were lying in each other's arms beneath a canopy of stars. Now Annie paces a secluded airfield at midnight, awaiting the arrival of an unmarked Navy helicopter. Her assignment: Get this Navy SEAL back into fighting form pronto-and keep his identity a secret. But who's going to protect her from a man who looks at her as if she were a stranger and who doesn't remember the one night she'll never forget?
His name is Sam McKade.
Six foot four inches of tough, trained professional, Sam risked his life in an act of rare courage, saving a busload of schoolchildren from certain death. But becoming America's newest media hero can be dangerous for a man with an undercover past. Sam could do a lot worse than this secluded beach resort. Ditto the sexy therapist who seems maddeningly familiar-if he only knew where or when. But he's about to find out-as a dangerous enemy surfaces out of his shadowed past, leaving a trail of bodies right to Annie's door.
Now the rugged SEAL who doesn't believe in love or commitment is about to risk everything...because for Sam McKade, protecting this woman, this extraordinary woman, has become the most important mission of his life....
More About the Author
Usually when her characters refuse to behave.
She came to writing late. Once she realized that she could not become the heir to a small European mountain kingdom, writing seemed like the next best thing. She is a pushover for Harris tweed, Scottish cashmere, handspun merino yarn, Shanghai street dumplings, French macarons and dark chocolate.
Not necessarily in that order.
After receiving her doctorate in classical Chinese literature, she traveled for five crazy years, working as a writer, translator and consultant to travel magazines, national tourist agencies, importers, apparel companies and museums, including the National Geographic Society, the Asia Society and the American Museum of Natural History, spending most of that time in Asia. Her mileage points were awesome.
Then the travel got old.
In 1990 she sold her first novel in six days. Since then she has written five different series for six different publishers. She has appeared on ABC Worldwide News, Travel News Network, the Arthur Frommer Show, Geraldo, Voice of America, Looking East, and Good Morning, Arizona.
In 2013 her contemporary romance, The Accidental Bride, was chosen as one of the ten best romance novels of the year by prestigious Booklist Magazine. In 2015 the book was chosen one of the 100 best books of the decade by the same premier review magazine. She is beyond thrilled by both honors.
"Rich with realistically complex characters and subtle wit, the latest addition to Skye's Summer Island series is as warm and comforting as a well-knit afghan. Skye perfectly captures the feel and appeal of small-town life, and this sweetly satisfying romance is an excellent read-alikes suggestion for fans of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series or Robyn Carr's Virgin River books."
~John Charles, Booklist
The book also received a reviewer's choice award from Romantic Times Magazine.
She is currently at work on a New Adult paranormal series and three new books in her Brides Club contemporary series, a spin off of her emotionally gripping Summer Island titles. In 2016 she will have five books published in the new Brides Club series, set on the ruggedly beautiful Oregon coast.

I will be heading out to buy more books from this talented author.
However, before Sam can complete his mission, he takes a heroic side trip and rescues some children, but is injured in the endeavor suffering amnesia. His impatient superiors decide to hide Sam in the Summerwind Resort while he recuperates and recovers his memory. Employed at the spa, Annie becomes his physical therapist, but must remain silent about their previous beach romance. As Annie and her patient fall in love all over again, a traitor plans to kill Sam and Annie if she gets in the way.
Like this reviewer, readers will say if memory is correct that the use of amnesia has seen googol deployments in books. However, Christina Skye makes her two-lead characters feel human so that the audience believes the story line is fresh and the memory loss real. The plot is filled with action and a strong cast enabling fans of romantic suspense to forget the numerous previous amnesiac tales because MY SPY will head towards the top of the list.
Ammie O'Toole was one of the millions of viewers that watched Sam McKade get thrown from the school bus after saving the bus full of children. When she'd known him he had been Sam Mitchell the man she'd seen for two weeks before he set off to explore Mexico. Now he's coming back to stay at Summerwind. This time battered and not knowing her. His attraction to her is still there and he gets all of the firsts over again. Only for Annie she's already lived it all and wishes Sam would remember.
The excitement continues as the Navy leak is trying to keep from being discovered. Sam needs to recover his memory quick, in the meantime he is being protected by Izzie and having the time of his life with Annie. How long until time runs out on Sam's good luck?
Ishmael Teaque returns again in this book. A fascinating and fun character that is in all of her Navy SEAL's books. The plot is a little unbelievable but let your imagination run with it and it will be a great read.
This Skye book was an average read. Nothing glaringly bad & nothing too exciting either. Romance & action-suspense were predictable. Sexual chemistry & love scenes were ho-hum. Characters, character development, & emotional pull of book were tepid.
Partial recommendation for an average romance.
