The game was pretty much a spinoff of Metal Gear Solid but still a cool fun game to play, it has many cool guns to use as well as gadgets and I would recommend this game to anyone who has played Spy and shooter games.

Ok, this game has solid graphics, that is one of two, only, good traits. The other trait is this, you get an item in the game called The Chameleon. This item allows you to become transparent(invisible)for an amount of time, or, you can use it to take pictures of people, areound the area that you are in, and take their form. Here is the problem
1. WHenever you change your outfit, to look like the person who you are impersonating, you have to hide in certain hiding places, like a closet. Yes, i know this is for the sake of realism, but the closets and barrels that you hide in, are cleverly placed by the game creators, and you cant move them, for your convinience...ever. 2. Ok, so though the ability to take someone elses form is cool, i cant shake the feeling that you are always set up to do it. For instance, you are outside of a building. You are armed with a gun, with only 8 shots, given to you. The gaurds outside the building, are in a large group, each one having an ak-47. But, there is a window up near the building top, and who is contiueously pacing past it, in view of your camera? Why, its the main bad guy, whos form you can take, and continue your mission. What i am getting at is, that you are made to use the power of change, it isnt some spontanious thing you can do. Now, if you were given a larger map, with more random people in it, id enjoy the ability more, but since it is so laid out for you to use the ability, i cant give any kudos points for it. Besides the invisibilty thing, this game is basically one of those, "we say its a stealth game, but you end up using your gun more often than a resevoir dog, in the middle of a police station" This becomes a problem, because instead of an great stealth, espienage game, you end up having a Metal Gear Solid look alike. I am not dissing MGS, its a great game, but Spy Fiction just isnt nearly as good as it, or as revolutionary. You can take pictures in MGS, and you can walk into broom closets, so what Spy Fiction is trying to accomplish, has been out since 1998. In general, Spy Fiction is probably worth a rental, but only if your purely crazy about MGS game wannabes, and your PS2 has broken, so it allows you to play any game on the system, except for the MGS games. I know its bad of me to compare this new comer to such a great series like MGS, but you cant help but do it! Spy Fiction is just too similar, and too much of an obvious look alike. Oh yeah, and back to the chameleon thing being laid out for you, one of the cinimas in the game, which isnt altered by gameplay, has the villian taking off your mask, meaning that, they knew that you were going to try and take someones identity...but yeah, its not really worth anyones time, but hey, it does make a good example of games where the devolopers spent too much time on graphics, and not enough time on gameplay.
