Fun Game - will teach your kids logic,
By Chuck R. (Washington, DC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spy Fox Dry Cereal (CD-ROM)
Spy Fox is the most difficult of the Humongous Entertainment Games. This level is tageted for kids over 6. Spy fox is the James Bond of the animal kingdom. He has to free the worlds cows from an evil goat 'William the Kid". You must complete a variety of tasks and reach certain destinations by using clues and spy tools. The game changes each time you play. And when you solve the crime you must capture the criminal. Adults may even find Spy Fox games difficult. My daughter solved most of this on her own when she was 5, but she is persistant and worked for days and days. After helping her I found the game to be fun and challenging, and we bought other Spy Fox games when we finished this one. If your kids are not at this level, try Putt-Putt(age 3 and up), Freddy the Fish(4 and up), or Pajama Sam(5 and up).

Don't let the new Atari packaging fool you - this game is a few years old. But it is an excellent game and well worth buying. Aside from offending goat's milk afficianados, this is a clean, kid-friendly game - which there are not nearly enough of in the world. If you thought it was too short or easy, play it again - there are several variations to get through, some more challenging than others. If you get stuck, there is a very complete help file included on the CD, or you can go to the website and get all the free hints you want. My daughter never seems to tire of it and has gone back to it again and again. There are a couple of places that require reading, so that a five or six year old might need some help, but be careful - you might end up staying up after their bedtime to play it yourself! Here's hoping Atari decides to make Spy Fox 4, and soon (before my kid is too old to give me an excuse to buy it! ;-).

Fun for all - while it lasts,

Spy Fox has a better stock of one-liners than his human role model, James Bond. My 6 year old daughter had a great time working her way through the mystery, although some of the leaps in logic required a little help - which is fine, because I enjoyed playing along. The characters are interesting and funny, and it's clear that a lot more development work went into this than many kids games. Be aware, though: unlike arcade style games, once you're done, you're done. Still a great investment, though!

My kids love playing this (ages 6 & 4). They needed a little help at first, but now can play by themselves.

This is a great program for kids. They have to use thinking skills and memory to figure out the clues. There are puzzles and games included. My 7 year old loves it and my 15 year old does not mind helping him once in a while.

One of the few (very few) games I'd recommend,

It has action without inappropriate violence, amusing one-liners, one very cool star and plenty of opportunity for kids to think a little.6-year old kids can go through this one on their own, but it's funny enough for parents to watch over their shoulder. In a market filled with brainless violent games aimed at a young audience and saccharine-sweet "educational" programs no one wants to play, I found that the three Spy Fox adventures struck a nice balance. I, for one, would love to see a fourth Spy Fox adventure.

Spy Fox is very funny, entertaining, and great for everyone. The game is not long, and while the ending is always the same, there are many different ways to get to that ending. Replay value is great, and we are always finding something new the next time we play it. Overall, the game is great and I would recommend for anyone, even though the age "limit" is 6-9.

Kids really enjoy this game. We lost our first copy, so it was constantly asked for, and finally replaced. One of the better Spy Fox games.

GREAT CLEAN GAME,
This review is from: Spy Fox Dry Cereal (CD-ROM)
My son and I love this game. We both love the logical thinking game but it's hard to find these type of games that are clean enough for kids to play. This is a great kids game (actually I think I enjoyed it myself just as much as my son and I'm 32 years old). My son wants me to order all the Spy Fox games and I'm going to do that. It's that fun. This is a great family game without all the voilence and other garbage.
